You will only receive rewards in ranked battles for getting 1st (or second depending on the amount of people in the match) and the rewards are determined on a spinning wheel. Usually, players only win around 0.1 - 0.3 ROY from the wheel prize. The current price of Roy is around 0.02$ so players would earn little in comparison to larger P2E games. Other than that, there are really no downsides and I recommend people who don't want to invest in a P2E game to play Crypto Royale.
