There are 134 acres of forest in Pennsylvania that my mother owns. While I wander around the property I often find old dump sites, some with bottles that date to the 1800s. I found this one at one of the dumpsites at the farthest end of the property close to a dirt road that winds through the forest.
There is actually a car from the ’40s-’50s buried there because I’ve been able to dig up what looks to be the hood and fender of a car. Needless to say, I think there are a lot more little treasures buried there that I’ll never get to.
I was so thrilled when I found this Clanky Chocolate syrup bottle one day while digging around looking for glass bottles, wild mushrooms, and cool fossils in the creek beds.
Even giant martian robots drank chocolate milk in the ’60s. Who knew? Scroll down to see the original TV commercial!
