Hello hello

I have always loved youtube and wanted to create a popular channel myself but directly knew that this wasn't as easy as it looks. My fascination for reaching many people and posibly making money with something I like to do kept rising. In my own opinion I'm relatively creative and work hard but the problem I have is that I'm not good at editing videos and the greater problem is that I do not like to show my face online. This gives me many limitatons of the things I can do on this incredible video platform.

Despite these disadvantages and the feeling of lack of potential I created a youtube channel in 2017 and posted some random rick and morty videos just to try out the concept of posting videos and getting views. I did not see any chance for me to get a bigger youtube channel and therefore I did not post any more videos. Until in the summer of 2018 when I found some free audibooks online that were not yet posted on youtube and tought that to just put these on youtube for more people to find these and possibly listen to these audiobooks on youtube. After posting several audibooks I did not really interacted further with my youtube channel and did not upload anything in the remainder of 2018. In march of 2019 I read many stories of people making a decent amount of extra income by owning a small youtube channel and posting videos once or twice a week. This revived my willingness to post on youtube and try to increase my subscriber count that was at that point of time stagnant around 30 subscribers. I started posting some random timelapse videos, looped videos of songs, satisfying type videos, sounds of animals. These were all videos I found somewhere else online and changed/edited these a little bit with my very low skill level. This worked relatively well and I saw my viewcount and subscriber count rising a tiny amount every week but at that rate I was never going to reach the requirements for monetization.
Now at that moment I felt that I had to keep trying and just don't stop because one of these videos could accidently go viral. Thus I did not stop and kept uploading random videos without any theme for the channel untill I made a compilation video of clips where brendon urie sang for hiw viewers during his live streams on twitch. This video did very well and reached a lot more views than all my other videos. That little bit of success gave me a good feeling and at that moment I knew what to do just keep creating these brendon urie singing compilations. This was also the moment my channel got more of a theme because of the fact that I only posted brendon urie videos at that moment. The subscriber count was also much more increasing than before and this has a easily known reason. The people subscribing for these brendon urie videos got more brendon urie videos and thus stayed because they enjoy these type of videos. This was different than before where people subscribing for a certain video did not get the same type of content with the next videos because I kept posting random videos without a theme and thus these people easily unsubscribed. Also after the summer I kept uploading brendon urie videos with sporadically also another type of video to just increase the amount of videos and also views.
This went well until two big problems occured early in 2020. The first problem appeared when my master thesis started and I did not have any time to create videos. But this was not the biggest problem =( The bigger problem was that on twitch there was a new rule with copyright of music. easily stated, streamers are not longer allowed to use copyrighted music on their streams and thus also Brendon Urie could not longer sing on his stream and this lead to him streamin much much less and if he streams he only plays games without singing and this type of content receives no much love of my viewers. Both these roadblocks stopped my posting of videos and from februari to july 2020 I did not post anything.
Now my goal is to reach the requirements for monetizing my channel which is 1000 subscribers and at least 4000 hours watchtime in 12 months. Therefore at the end of July I started posting random videos again without a theme. The amount of watchtime is no problem as of writing this post I have over 25000 hours of watchtime since the beginning of my channel with over 22000 hours watchtime in the last 12 months which is substantially more than the 4000 hours. But it is the amount of subscribers which is still not reached, I have 710 subscribers which is not that bad and i'm happy that these people enjoy my creations but it can still take a very long time to reach this milestone of 1000 subs. I know that the problem is that my channel does not have a certain theme of videos which is the biggest problem that forms a roadblock for reaching the 1000 subscribers.
I hope that I can find a certain theme of videos that I love creating and sharing with the viewers. I know that posting of videos just to make money or reaching the monetization point is not the best way of doing this but I just cannot find something I like creating and can create with my skillset. Possibly I have to make more time to study videomaking and learn how to edit but now with going to university I have a very limited amount of time to spend on such things.
I hope there is someone who found this post enjoyable or can learn something with reading my story. My English writing is not very great and especially today I not really have the right mind to write but I wanted to share this with you guys anyway. I do not have much time what also makes that I could not read this post myself and correct my mistakes so i'm sure there are a lot of them but hopefully it was not too difficult to read.
