I am curating The F*ck Wall Street cryptoart show. What this means is that I’m going to pick the art that will appear in this show. I won’t be including all art that is submitted, so I just wanted to clarify that this show will be different from the FRIDA show, because that was a community show. This one will be a curated show, so don’t get upset if your art is not selected.

About the F*ck Wall Street Art Exhibition

The events of the past few weeks regarding GameStop have made the Elon Musk quote inevitable:

“Whoever controls the memes, controls the universe.”

And as Robert Reich, former Secretary of Labor, put it on Twitter: “If Redditors rallying GameStop is unacceptable market manipulation, what would you call it when greedy Wall Street bankers gambled away our entire economy in 2008 and faced no consequences?”

Is this the French Revolution moment of Wall Street’s history, a sequel to Occupy Wall Street? I think you know the answer.

This art show is dedicated to all the people who were destroyed in the 2008-09 recession as well as all people who have been wiped out during the Covid pandemic and who never got the bailouts that the banks got.
