Zinc is present in various foods - The Periodic Elements NFT (GIVEAWAY)

Zinc is the chemical element with atomic number 30 and its symbol is Zn.

Zinc is solid at room temperature. It is a moderately reactive metal, which combines with oxygen and other non-metals; reacts with diluted acids to generate hydrogen. It has similar characteristics to calcium, but less reactivity.
In the presence of dithizone it assumes an intense red color. Zinc is an essential trace element, present in the body in greater quantities than that of any other trace element other than iron.

Zinc alloys have been used for centuries: brass is undoubtedly the oldest, and artifacts of this alloy are found in Palestine from 1400 to 1000 BC. Objects of 87% pure zinc have been found in prehistoric Transylvania.
The manufacture of brass was known to the Romans from about 30 AD, with a technique that involved heating copper and calamine in a crucible. The heat reduced the zinc oxides of the calamine, and the free zinc was captured by the copper, forming brass, which was then cast into molds or forged.

Zinc is the fourth most common metal in technological use after iron, aluminum and copper, per tons of metal produced annually.

Zinc is an essential element for the life of humans and higher animals: a zinc deficiency heavily affects body growth and weight gain.

For a zinc alloy with 21-23% aluminum and 0.4-0.6% copper, we can obtain a superplastic behavior, similar to molten glass or rubber, through a solubilization treatment at a temperature between 275 and 375 ° C followed by quenching and aging at a temperature below 275 ° C: a very fine crystalline grain is formed which gives the alloy superplastic properties; if the temperature of 275 ° C is exceeded, the alloy loses all its superplastic properties.

And finally only a part of the numerous uses of zinc:

  • to galvanize metals such as steel to prevent corrosion.
  • in alloys such as brass, nickel silver, typewriter metal, various solder alloys, German silver etc.
  • in alloys for the production of gold and silverware.
  • metallization (spraying): pure zinc is inserted into a blowtorch or acetylene flame spray gun, which vaporizes the metallic zinc which then deposits on the piece to be coated.
  • Zinc oxide is used as a white pigment in water-based paints and paints, and as an activator in the rubber industry.
  • Zinc chloride is used as a deodorant, in the treatment of some gum problems and as a wood preservative.
  • Zinc sulfide is used in luminescent pigments to make the hands of watches and other objects glow in the dark.
  • Zinc gluconate is taken in tablets as a remedy for the common cold.

The giveaway

In the copper giveaway we played a trick on you. We hope no one was offended.

For this giveaway we must be good, we cannot stress you on the rush to respond and above all we must reward everyone. For this reason it will be a double giveaway.

For the assignment of both, an extraction will be made among all those who comment the article with their WAX address by January 17th at 16:00 CEST (a user an address).

The first NFT concerns the new element, zinc, with a max supply of 200. 50% of the supply is assigned to the giveaway and the first 100 users resulting from the extraction will be awarded.

The second NFT is about the third celebrity of chemical characters. We do not reveal the name and history at the moment. The max supply of celebrities is 149. The last 140 results from the draw will be awarded.

There will most likely be people who will receive a double NFT - virtue lies somewhere in between.

If, on the other hand, there were more than 250 comments (the exit polls do not provide it), we will invent something to also find a reward for those who were excluded from the double giveaway.

In the next few days the NFTs of the molecule and copper will be sent.

The Periodic Table NFT project

The Periodic Table NFT project aims to raise awareness of chemical elements in a modern key, basing the approach on blockchain and Non Fungible Token.
Day after day it will be possible to know the single elements that make up the table, to collect curiosities about each of them and about the table in general.
We are working to be able to learn, in a playful way, also what happens by combining the various elements.
The whole project is based on the collection of NFTs that can be bought on the site https://wax.atomichub.io/market?collection_name=periodicelem&order=desc&sort=created&symbol=WAX or by participating in simple giveaways published on publish0x.

Periodic Table Of Elements - NFT

The periodic table, also known as the periodic table of elements, is a tabular display of the chemical elements, which are arranged by atomic number, electron configuration, and recurring chemical properties. Each of us has a good memory of the school period. The periodic table of the elements was certainly a part of our journey. The time has come to retrace each element and collect the most exciting ones.
