Vanadium is the chemical element with atomic number 23 and its symbol is V. A rare element found in the form of a compound in certain minerals, it is a hard, silvery gray, ductile transition metal.
Its name derives from the Scandinavian goddess of beauty and fertility: Vanadis
Vanadium occurs naturally in about 65 different minerals and in fossil fuel deposits. It is produced in China and Russia from slag from steel foundries; other countries produce it either from heavy oil exhaust dust or as a by-product of uranium mining. It is mainly used in metallurgy, for the production of special steel alloys, such as super-fast tool steels. The most important industrial compound of vanadium, vanadium pentoxide, is used as a catalyst for the production of sulfuric acid.
About 80% of the vanadium produced is used as a ferro-vanadium alloy or as an additive for steel.
Vanadium is never found pure in nature (with the exception of the Amanita muscaria mushroom, which contains it in minimal doses). It is present in about 65 minerals, including patrónite, vanadinite and carnotite. Vanadium is also present in bauxite and in fossil fuel deposits such as oil, coal and tar sands.
Powdered vanadium is flammable and all of its compounds are considered highly toxic, causing respiratory cancer when inhaled.
Giveaway
First of all, I would like to point out that we are late in delivering the Titanium. It should be delivered to the winners within a couple of days
It is a bit of an intense period and so also for this element we have decided to keep a low profile in organizing the giveaways.
Compared to Titanium, the max supply is lower, but at Christmas we are all better and so the numbers remain the same:
- 20 NFT for the fastest to comment
- 45 NFTs randomly assigned among all the others who will comment within 3 days (deadline December 13 at 17:00 CEST)
All those who are not among the winners of this draw will be sent a NFT Lavoisier from the celebriety series (until exhaustion supply and maybe even someone who hasn't won in previous draws)

The Periodic Table NFT project
The Periodic Table NFT project aims to raise awareness of chemical elements in a modern key, basing the approach on blockchain and Non Fungible Token.
Day after day it will be possible to know the single elements that make up the table, to collect curiosities about each of them and about the table in general.
We are working to be able to learn, in a playful way, also what happens by combining the various elements.
The whole project is based on the collection of NFTs that can be bought on the site https://wax.atomichub.io/market?collection_name=periodicelem&order=desc&sort=created&symbol=WAX or by participating in simple giveaways published on publish0x.
