Operation Matchmaking

Operation Matchmaking

She barely has six more months before she will move on to another chapter of her life. She is excited and full of anticipation  about what future will bring ahead of her. She is keen yet goofy at times thus making friends is not that difficult for her. She likes socializing and just makes most of  her time spending it with her colleagues at work.

Not until she meets Angela. She is a kindhearted woman yet very reserved thus most people at  their working place finds  Angela so aloof that at times she is the subject of their humorous jokes. She feels so bad seeing her newfound friend miserable in the company of those people around her, so she thinks of an avenue  where Angela can simply just get on with her life once she won’t be around any longer.

“Hey Angela, how’s it going?”

“Nothing much today Laurice, I just felt so bad about everything.

One simple mistake and our colleagues are just making it a big deal.

I don’t think I can make it without you here.”

“You will make it girl, we will still communicate. I promise!”

Though at the back of her mind, she’s adamant to find someone whom Angela can share whatever is bothering her, someone  she can consider a confidant.

“Aha! I will find her a boyfriend!”

So Laurice starts browsing online, dating apps and possible avenues on her plan. Browsing, talking to those potential candidates she feels is a match for Angela. Takes her sometimes to convince her friend about the plan and in the end she is  not so confident to give it a try. Browsing, checking, researching backgrounds of those guys is not at all easy just when she feels like giving up, a message of.....

“hi, can we talk on viber?”

Appalled by a guy named Tristan, Laurice, sends him back a message.

“Well I opened this account for my friend Angela, would you like to talk to her instead?”

Tristan simply smiles and tells her,

“But don’t you think it’s a bit strange to do as such for your friend?  You sure she won’t be  upset with it?”

It all started with those lines and they become friends. Laurice with her confidence that these  two are a good match, sets time for their personal meeting. Tristan on the other hand simply says,...

”hey I understand your intention yet

I am not fond of Angela but would love to see you in person though!”

Three is a Crowd!

Back when my ex-boyfriend (now my hubby) and I were still dating in Doha, since I don’t know my way to that hotel where we supposed to meet for the first time (actually it was recommended by a friend) so I asked her to accompany me instead. She has been living in the Middle East for two years so she knew her way around the area. True enough, (my hubby) at that time arrived too early and like I mentioned from my previous post, I was not really so into him so I was thinking of matchmaking the two.
