Imagine living in a world where the climate of hatred, murder, killings, and violence is present? How do you think you would cope up daily? How do you ever survive in an atmosphere where bullets were dispersed randomly?

I was broken into pieces when I watched the news on countries such as Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Lebanon whom civilians were scared for their lives. I could not even imagine how each of those young children can wake up without fear in their eyes and most of all when hunger struck them. I cried deep inside when the news of terrorists attack at Christchurch in New Zealand back in 2019 with whom a dear friend lost her life. 

Why this is all happening? Why do we need to spread bullets when we can spread bread instead? Why do we need to shoot one another when we can offer them hugs and LOVE. 

My dear brothers and sisters, AGAPE is what the world needs today. AGAPE is what we fail to see. AGAPE is what we have to exercise to make this world a better place to live. Agape with an aide of ecumenical perspective in the essence of 

Unity in Diversity:

In the Northern Italian City of Trent during World War 11 in 1943 where siren could be heard as a signal to look for their haven, young Chiara Lubich together with her friends found solace and comfort with the aid of a Bible in their hands in the shelters during air raids and she felt deeply  the presence of Jesus' desire "that they all may be one." 

That moment of fighting for one's life, her only companion was deep faith and LOVE for one another. At that moment where everyone was dying, she knew in her heart that she was called to bring Unity and that the war can be shed under the deep transcendental AGAPE, the highest form of love according to the ancient Greek, which seeks a universal, unconditional,  going beyond the emotion to the extent of aiming only what was BEST for others.

Chiara and her companion after 1949 with that blazing desire to share agape mentally, spiritually, and culturally, twenty-four other towns have sprung up worldwide through Europe in an ecumenical way. 

Today, interreligious dialogue in Tagaytay, Philippines established with an annual convention participated by 182 nations and more than 2 million people shared closely in its life and work, where spiritual and cultural differences were highly respected to exemplify the aim of Universal Brotherhood.

Likewise, in parallel to the aim of helping one another, a Bukas Palad Foundation grew through the generosity and love for one another especially the children who were in dire need of school supplies, food and shelter assisted because of Chiara Lubich's Focolare Movement. (Click Here)

I was a volunteer teacher when I was still in the Philippines and found my calling whenever I emerged myself with those kids. The beauty of being able to go beyond my interest to earn more money for my own family was outweighed when I had seen the joy of those children.

There's a "revolutionary" effect when "LOVE" prevails despite each other's differences. Thus the song Gen Revolution composed by the members of the Focolare Youth Group based on their real-life experiences had given birth to the new "generation" of young people who were ready to die for one another, giving their lives for their brothers and sisters in the name of AGAPE!
