I think we can all get stuck in a dynamic where we follow the grooves of our habits, of the YouTube and Spotify algorithms, of the grind of daily life. In an attempt to get out of the grooves of my routine I'm reaching out the the Publish0x community for recommendations. What are you fine folks reading?

In the Interest of fairness and reciprocity here are some titles I have really enjoyed accompanied by a short summary:

The Outlaw Ocean - Ian Urbina

This book uses narrative to explore the dangers and wonder of our planet's las frontier, the ocean. It is a combination of danger, triumph, law, politics and adventure and one of the best non-fiction books I've read in years.

Educated - Tara Westover

Educated is a memoir, a tale of success and survival, and an empathetic look at lives intentionally lived on the margin. Westover was born into a family of survivalists hidden away in the American West. Her upbringing was, mildly put, unconventional. Yet, Westover, who received no formal education in her early years, found her way, through grit and determination, to Cambridge University where she earned a PhD. This is a story full of heart and heartache that is worth the read.

Mostly Dead Things - Kristen Arenett

A novel about addiction, family disfunction and taxidermy. Spectacularly weird. Set in, where else, Florida.
