I never had the habit of writing, but there are so many stories (good and bad) since I had the first contact with the one loved by some and hated by others BITCOIN, so here we are.
My work gave me the opportunity to travel to various places for free! Well… almost.
One of those trips was to Hong Kong where I met a great friend that I'm in contact with until today who called Shingzu (pronounced shihtzu) like that breed of cute puppies (if you laughed at that, you won't go to heaven :)
A very nice and fun guy.
On a day off, he took me to know the city and some places, a very different world for me, a South American lost in Asia.
We went to a typical town fair bought a few things and at some point Shingzu bought bananas, and hit with the seller showed some figures and calculations and asked ready WHAT had happenedand the answer was that
- bought ué bananas, bananas Bitcoin
- Ok .. .. We take the bananas.
I didn't understand anything and started to ask how he paid, if it was a game or something, he
explained that he got the payment right in Bitcoin. For me that name or feeling was, but aroused the curiosity, and after hours of explanations and show me and basically a computer how the system worked, it was like to go to another universe or metaverse if you prefer
I had ashobby electronics liked of radios, tvs and etc… Computers was the next step.
Coming home the word Bitcoin did not leave our minds, so we went to fight, It had a beautiful 486DX with a powerful 33 MHz pentium (Young people today don't know what this power is) and a formidable 56Kbps dial-up connection. Uhuuu
And in the endless nights of searching the lost internet forums, a passion for cryptography begins and all the change it caused in my life
Shingzu helped me a lot to take my first steps with cryptography, it was difficult to communicate at that time for connections with the other side in the world, and it got much worse when I was fired for making 27 international calls over an hour from the company phone.
But that's a subject for a next chapter.
