What does passive income mean?

You can subdivide income into active income such as passive income. Active income is the common way to generate income. You're actively working for a company or for your self-employment to generate income to live on. Passive income means that you're not working actively for this type of income. Your input is from a minimum to zero.

To generate a passive income you have to actively spend a lot of time at the beginning. It's not guaranteed that you'll have sucess. If you're earning enough passive income you have the opportunity to reduce your invested time in generating active income. Keep in mind that your source of passive income could break away at any time. So it's recommended to have multiple sources of active such as passive income.
