Proverbs of Smog #2

Proverbs of Smog #2

By Nathan Payne | pablosmoglives | 4 Sep 2025

My cat caught me plagiarizing from the future tomorrow night, and has accused me of planting the so-called "Proverbs of Smog" in his litter box so that he could "discover" them and feel like he'd accomplished something significant.  I have been indicted by the court of wild beasts on several counts of historical fraudulence, and the "ancient" book of scrolls has been subpoenaed by the trees. My court date is scheduled for yesterday. But I am not concerned.

I have mounted a formidable Santa Claus defense, in which I cop to plagiarizing from myself in order to make my cat happy, not unlike a loving parent tells fables to their children about supersonic, moralizing fat men on Christmas Eve, because it's fun.

But my legal fees are through the roof.

While it's true that the 2nd chapter of Proverbs of Smog has been lifted word-for-word from my article There Is No Such Thing As A Diverse Group Of People, and I believe the point of the article bears infinite repeating,

I am looking at some serious jail time in a subterranean 4th-world dungeon for convicted creatures of the neverending forest, if I fail to beat the case.

Proverbs of Smog

Chapter Two

1. The human heart is naturally decentralized.

2. There is no such thing as a diverse group of people.

3. The most diverse group of people imaginable would be a group of true individuals who don’t identify with anything, least of all each other.

4. A group of people assembled because they share ONE thing in common is infinitely more diverse than a group that assembles because they share MANY things in common.

5. Groups are homogeneous by nature; individuals, free of the burden of being composed of “different” elements that must conform to each other to create unity, can simply be themselves.

6. There is no such thing as a diverse group of people.

7. No group has ever benefitted from allowing the individual to be free.

Capítulo Dos

1. El corazón humano es naturalmente descentralizado.
