Last Days Sale

By Nathan Payne | pablosmoglives | 30 Jul 2025

Let's get real.  Not only are these obviously the last days, to the point that we're way beyond politics, and to get hung up on problems or solutions of that kind is to wrap your head in angry quicksand,

But the crypto tip thing doesn't really cut it either, does it.  I cashed out several years' worth of crypto tips from this platform in the Spring, and it came out to about 20 bucks.  20 bucks I can't access, and wouldn't know how to use even if I could, living in the woods on food stamps as I am.

The gesture is appreciated, truly, but until they take gestures of solidarity at the gas station, or the front desk at the Palookaville Inn,

The gesture doesn't change the fact that I can't write any real articles without a place to plug in my computer, so I can type.  This electronic clay tablet from the ancient Sumerian future is useful, but I can't write on it.

Nevermind make another actual album.

In fact I can't even post any of my recent poems, because they require at least one line to be single-spaced, and while this crypto casino platform is leagues ahead of overrated, user-unfriendly platforms like Substack,

It still hasn't occurred to the overpaid code people to enable single spacing.  I'm not going to say the world is unfriendly to the arts (that would be redundant), but I will say it is almost entirely unaware of them.  As it always has been.  But if these are the last days, and we can't vote our way out of the book of Revelation...

I don't think we can write or sing our way out of it either.

But we can appreciate what we still have, even if a new technocratic dark ages is upon us.

For an unlimited time only, my entire discography is now available for a 35% discount on Bandcamp.  No promo code required.  Simply click on any of the albums on my Bandcamp page (linked in both pictures above, and also HERE),

And select the whole discography, which comes to $143 with the discount.  The package deal includes the "Breakfast at Cuneo's" demo collections, the spoken word album, the live album from Santiago, Chile, and the first 4 greatest hits albums.

Or buy one album at a time.  Listen at your leisure before you buy, but please do buy.

Unless you want to call my telephone and insurance company, and convince them to wave my fee goodbye, because art is free and the song belongs to all of us.

I can do that.  Please just don't try to enlighten me about "art for its own sake." I made 21 albums for free, under a rock, because I had to.  I would love the chance to do it again.

Anyway, God forbid the technocratic devaluation of your trade skills comes to you.  But if it does, remember,

In the arts, like everything else, you get what you pay for.  The songs in the links above do not belong to all of us.  They belong to me.  To argue the point is to enable the Kanye Wests of the world even further.  I'm not sure how much more damage to the culture it is possible to do,

But let's not find out.  Heed the warning of the dead musician on the floor of the culture mine.  Don't patronize him with platitudes about the entitled, tyrannical demands of the community.  Just buy the item on the shelf, with gratitude.  Even if these are the last days.  It's better to finish well than to start well.

Don't you think?

p.s.  The half-off deal for Is It For Real? advertised in the video has expired, but the question stands.

Do you need permission to rock?
