CoinEx Exchange Review

By CryptoCelt97 | Other | 18 May 2021

CoinEx is a global digital coin exchange that offers a very wide variety of cryptocurrencies. The exchange was founded in 2017 and supports multiple languages like Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Russian, etc. and are providing global trading services in over 100 countries/regions. Therefore, it should be available in your region, wherever that may be.

Is KYC required?

KYC is not required when signing up for this exchange. You will obviously need an e-mail address and 2-FA will be required to keep your account safe – I personally recommend using either Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator.

Once 2-FA is set up and your e-mail verified, your account will be set up very quickly. Therefore, it has very good ease of access and there are limited barriers of entry.

What are the fees?

If a user is holding 1000 CET (CoinEx token) or more you get many advantages, one being lowered fees. The above screenshot show the standard rate of fees and the the rate for holding over 1000 CET.

The screenshot below show some of the fees for withdrawing and depositing coins. As you can see there are no fees for depositing but there are slight withdrawal fees.

Frequent Airdrops

Another advantage of holding 1000 CET is that it gives you access to frequent airdrops of new coins.

The most recent airdrop was for STC. By holding 1000 CET a user was qualified to claim 10 STC each, usually a user has to be quite quick with these airdrops or they will be claimed. The previous airdrop was for SKALE - the coin that was most recently featured on Coinbase Earn.

As mentioned, to qualify you must own 1000 CET - At the time of writing, CET is worth $0.12, therefore a user will need to deposit $120 to purchase 1000 CET and be qualified for the airdrops. The airdrops are quite frequent and the CET gives you a discount off fees so I would recommend investing in it.

What are the coins on offer?

At the time of writing, CoinEx has 260 coins on offer. You can purchase the big boys of crypto - ETH, BTC, BNB, ADA etc along with newer coins like ICP, SHIB and STC for example. This along with coins like banano.

Also if interested, you can enter liquidity pools with these coins to try and increase your capital.

The above image is for the CET liquidity pool if you have any interest in doing that.

Is it easy to navigate?

In my experience, the UI is very good and it's fairly easy to navigate. It's very quick and easy to set up, so you can get going immediately and start purchasing the coins you want to buy with no issue.

Conclusion

I have only been using the exchange for about a week, but so far my experience has been a positive one. I have purchased a 1000 CET so my fees are low and I am eligible for all the airdrops.

It is one of the only exchanges to offer the Banano coin - so I have been purchasing some of that coins also. There is a wide range of coins available and it is very quick to add new coins.

Also as mentioned, there is no KYC which I know is a bonus for a lot of people.
