As some of you already noticed, there was a big, tremendous, Twitch leak. And I want to walk you through the important information about it.
When did it happen?
Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Around 7:30 p.m. to be exact.
What happened?
Twitch was hacked, which led to the release of sensitive information, including Twitch source code, information about an unreleased Steam competitor from Amazon, with its own codename VAPOR. And Creator payout reports from 2019 until now. The leak occurred via 4chan, an anonymous, imageboard website.

The file has 128GB, and was and still is downloadable through torrent link.
Also, they claim that this was just part one.
Does this mean that hackers have more Twitch data and more of our data? Does this mean there will be another breach? We don't exactly know.
It is recommended to change your Twitch password & activate the two-factor authentication. Despite Twitch claims that no login credentials were exposed. Also, if you use the same password on any other site, social media, whatever, please change that too! If login credentials actually have been leaked too, hackers have a very easy way to steal your other accounts, just by trying the same password on different sites.
Also, credit card information ARE NOT stored on the Twitch servers, so there should not be any problem as well.
Why did the leak happen?
Because the Twitch community is really toxic lately and they want Twitch to have a competition.
Thank you for reading! Would appreciate any tips!
