The story begins with Nobita who is sound asleep in his room. Shizuka wakes him up and invites him to float away with her. He was so happy but suddenly his mom interrupts.  Apparently, it was all just a dream. 

Looking at the time, Nobita finds out that he has overslept and so he runs to school.  As a punishment for being tardy, Nobita stands in the hallway.  Suneo and Gian see him and makes fun of him but Shizuka comes to his rescue.  

After school, they all played baseball together along with Gian's sister, Jaiko.  But it is evident that Nobita is not good at sports either.  

Back at their home, Nobita is trying to study but he again falls asleep. His exam paper falls revealing that he got 0.  

His great-great-grandson from the 22nd century, Sewashi, who watches him every day, travels from the future to Nobita's timeline while bringing along his robotic cat Doraemon. 

That night, while Nobita is sleeping on his bed. Doraemon comes out of the drawer at Nobita's study table. Nobita can't believe what he's seeing.  

Doraemon and Sewashi introduce themselves and say they are from the future. Nobita checks his drawer and is amazed to see where they have come from.  

His mom was already asleep but Nobita got food and drinks for his visitors. Nobita still can't understand where they came from so Sewashi further explains who are they and why they have come. Sewashi reveals he is his grandchild's grandchild and comes 4 generations after him.  

Meanwhile, Doraemon tastes the delicious snack and asks Nobita what it's called. To this, he answers, Dorayaki. Sewashi tells Nobita that in 19 years he will be married. Curious about his future, Nobita asks him who will he marry.  And so Sewashi shows him a wedding picture of him and Jaiko. Nobita can't believe it and so he asks them to leave.  

Sewashi reveals that if Nobita keeps up his act, he will have a disastrous future: he won't be employed, his private company will be burned down, and will be left with great debt. To circumvent this, he orders Doraemon to help Nobita, modifying Doraemon's nose to prevent him from returning to the future unless Nobita gains happiness. 

Even if Doraemon changes his mind and decides to stay, he will be forced to go back to the future once his mission is complete. 

Sewashi goes back to the future while Doraemon left with no choice stays with the clumsy Nobita. Doraemon pulls the drawer and tries to go back to where he came from but his nose beeps and electrocutes him.  

Forced to remain in the past, Doraemon introduces his gadgets to Nobita. 

First, the "Take-copter" which he places on top of Nobita's head making him float. Nobita gets stressed out because he couldn't control it and so he orders it to stop.  And it did. 

Fearful for his life, Nobita orders it to work again, and just as he was about to touch the ground The gadget works again and flies him around the city.  

Finally, Nobita calms down, and when Dorameon checks it because he fainted. 

Afterward, he finally get the hang of it and enjoyed the ride. He sees Shizuka's house and flies there but she is already sleeping.  

Back at his house, Doraemon reveals that Nobita and Shizuka will get married someday and so Nobita is overjoyed. 

The next morning, Nobita is seen running to school again.  But Doraemon comes to his aide and pulls the Anywhere Door. He says he just needs to say where he wants to go and open the door and it will transport him there easily. Nobita is so happy while Suneo and Gian can't believe he's so early. 

During the night, Doraemon pulls out the memory bread. Once eaten, Nobita can memorize everything written on it. During the exam the next day, Nobita easily answers the question because of the bread.  But Gian is not happy that Nobita got a higher grade than him. 

Nobita asks Doraemon for help to get revenge on Gian. and he gives him the invisible cape. With it, he was able to confidently attack Gian. 

The grabber glove is for him to be good at sports. Nobita easily catches the ball while they're playing outside because of it. 

As clumsy as he is, Nobita breaks a flower vase at his school. Suneo witnesses it and decides to tell their teacher. Doraemon came to the rescue and shows him the time kerchief that causes things to go back to the way they were or fast forward them. 

Because of it, the vase is back to its original condition while Suneo is scolded by the teacher thinking he just made the story up.  

While Shizuka is busy drawing some flowers outside, Nobita approaches her but slips and falls in a puddle. Doraemon gives him the Instant Wardrobe Cam that can produce whatever outfit they draw. Nobita borrows Shizuka's sketchbook and draws an outfit for her. Upon taking the picture with this futuristic gadget, Shizuka is upset that Nobita drew her a revealing outfit. 

The next gadget, is the speed winder makes Nobita's actions speed up.  His parents are happy to see that Nobita finishes his house chores fast because of it.  

The Gulliver Tunnel, transformed not only Nobita but made all of his friends smaller. They were able to drive around using the toy car and were so happy about it. 

Doraemon also made them an underground tunnel where each one of them has their own rooms to do whatever they please.  

He also gave them each a take copter and made them float in the sky to reach the cloud and used the extra hot cloud spray. They happily jumped and played in the cloud because of it.  

While walking inside the school, Shizuka and Nobita were talking about their fun experiences. But they were interrupted when his classmate Dekisugi talks to Shizuka. Nobita is concerned because he is a really nice guy, good at sports and school works. 

Threatened by him, he comes once again to Doraemon for help. Doraemon searches his pocket for a gadget that will make Shizuka fall in love with him. Finally, he pulls the imprinting egg. Some animals, especially birds treat the first thing they see as their parents even a toy bird. And that is imprinting, Doraemon explains.  

To put it simply for Nobita, Doraemon demonstrates that he only needs to get Shizuka inside the egg, and the timer will start. After 15 minutes, she'll fall in love with the first person she sees. 

Doraemon warns NObita that that is a powerful gadget as it has complete control over its subjects. But Nobita is unstoppable. He carries the gadget out all by himself but it accidentally topples over. Gian stops it but he touches the knob and ends up inside the egg.  Knowing what could happen, Nobita hides. 

Just as the egg was about to open, Suneo arrives at the scene with his remote-controlled car.  Gian sees him and falls head over heels for Suneo while Doraemon and Nobita are hiding using the invisible cape.  

Suneo runs away from Gian but he follows him. Doraemon then warns Nobita again that it's not a good idea to use it. But Nobita really wants to make Shizuka fall for her.  

They carried the egg home and left it open while Doraemon positioned anywhere hole in Shizuka's front door. As a result, she falls inside the egg. Nobita asks Doraemon to leave so that he will be the first one Shizuka sees after. While waiting, Nobita is interrupted by SUneo who came to his house asking for help. Gian is just right around the corner and so he goes inside his house. 

At another place, Dekisugi remembers something and goes to Shizuka's house. Nobita runs back to his room and is surprised to see Shizuka hugging Dekisugi. He asks Doraemon to fix her saying that although she like Shizuka, he doesn't want to rely on a gadget for it. This statement made Shizuka fall for him even more. 

Doraemon is impressed by Dekisugi and Nobita agrees. He compares himself to him while Doraemon tells him the harsh truth that he is clumsy, slow, hates to study, timid, lazy, dense, and bad at sports. He says he's so lame he can't even be compared to Dekisugi. 

This time he can't rely on the gadgets anymore and so he needs to put in some effort. 

Doraemon encourages him to just try, so that night Nobita reflects. Early the next morning, Doraemon is shocked to see that Nobita is up early and is studying math. Gian and Suneo is shocked to see him studying too while walking to school.  

Doraemon helps him review for his upcoming exam. On the day of the exam, Nobita is so confident that he'll ace it. But when he looks aT it, he was surprised that he studied for the wrong subject. When the results came, Nobita is sad to see that he got 0 again in spite of all his efforts. 

Doraemon asks him about the result on the way home but he doesn't want to talk to him. He takes a look at the paper but is surprised that they took the Japanese test and not the Math test which Nobita is well prepared for. 

Nobita is so sad about what happened and has decided to stay out for a while. Shizuka sees him but he runs away.  

At home, Nobita asks his mother if they could just move away or if he could just study abroad but his mom disapproves.  

Because of everything that has happened, Nobita decides to give up on pursuing Shizuka. In his mind, HE THINKS she'll be unhappy forever if She marries him.  Although it's hard to say goodbye, Nobita has accepted that Shizuka will be better off without him. 

The next day, Nobita visits Shizuka's house to return her books but it's her father who received them as she is still taking a bath. Shizuka hears that Nobita said goodbye and wished her happiness and so after a while, she follows him home. However, he doesn't want to talk to her.  

Unsure of what to do, he decides to make her hate him. He does this by flipping Shizuka's skirt to reveal her underwear (but not looking at it), resulting in Shizuka screaming and holding her skirt down in embarrassment before slapping him and running away in tears.  

After a while, Shizuka realizes that Nobita had his eyes shut when he did this to her. This makes her start worrying about Nobita.  

On his way home, Dekisugi sees Nobita crying and is shocked when he tells him to take care of Shizuka. Dekisugi tells Shizuka about it and they are both concerned. She overhears Gian and Suneo's conversation about Nobita's self-esteem getting crushed by their teacher for recently failing another test, causing her to believe he is planning to commit take his own life. 

And so, Shizuka visits Nobita at his house. Nobita doesn't know how to face Shizuka and so he pressures Doraemon into helping him make Shizuka hate him. Doraemon gives him the Despica-potion, making not only Shizuka hate him but also the people around him. Nobita gets too excited and drinks the whole bottle instead of just taking a sip. 

The potion is so strong that even Doraemon and his mom can't stand it. But Shizuka arrives at the Nobi residence and resists Nobita's people-repelling potion to help him. She held his hand and guided him to the bathroom to vomit the potion. After that, she encourages him and cries because he made her worry. That night, Nobita and Doraemon are hanging out on the roof. 

Doraemon reveals because of today's events, Nobita's future has started to improve. At first, he doesn't want to tell him, but he convinces him to reveal it. He says it's the first step in Nobita and Shizuka's growing relationship to eventually become a couple and shows him a picture of a grown-up Shizuka spanking a little boy that looks like Nobita. 

He is surprised to see that he has married Shizuka in the future and thanks Doraemon for all his help. However, the next day Nobita is surprised to see Dekisugi is already proposing to Shizuka. But apparently, it was just a practice for their Cinderella play. 

At home, when he looks at the picture again, it seems to be changing. Nobita is worried once more that Shizuka might end up marrying Dekisugi. 

To put him at ease, Doraemon lets him watch TIME TV. He looks at the date 14 years after when he is to be engaged. Shizuka asks Nobita to join him for mountain climbing but he refuses since he is not feeling well. 

After seeing his older self-rejecting Shizuka's invitation to mountain climbing, and he asks Doraemon for the time kerchief and decides to disguise himself as his older self to help Shizuka, who becomes separated from her group during a heavy blizzard. 

His plan is to ride the Time Machine and go save Shizuka. But before leaving, Doraemon warns that using the time machine could change the future again and it might not necessarily change for the better.  But Nobita is determined to leave and so they travel in time. 

Upon arriving in the future, Nobita is surprised that their house turned into a bathroom as their whole neighborhood turned into a park.  

Nobita goes to Shizuka using the anywhere door. He asks Doraemon to stay behind as he wants to save her without his help. He runs to her and offers to help.  

First, by pulling out a map to help them find their way. But apparently, the map he has is a world map and won't be of any help. Shizuka shows him, her auto compass that will show them their direction.  

They finally see a cave and decide to stay there. To keep them warm, Nobita pulls out a match but is surprised it's already wet. 

He tries to make fire using wood but is unsuccessful. So Shizuka gets her lighter and they made a bonfire.  She didn't want to interrupt all Nobita's efforts that's why she didn't pull it out first. 

There at the cave, Nobita notices that Shizuka is sick and must have gotten it from his future self.  So he offers her his coat to keep her warm. But Nobita didn't notice that his clothes are wet. Concerned about him, Shizuka pulls her emergency blanket so Nobita could dry his clothes. 

Time passes by and Shizuka's cold is getting worse so Nobita starts to get paranoid again. Shizuka worries about him and says he needs someone to look after him. She then reveals the answer to his question is "Yes" before collapsing from a cold she contracted from her earlier conversation with Nobita.  

He asks for Doraemon's help but he can't hear him. Nobita decides to bring her to the anywhere door but Shizuka starts to get worse.  The wind is so strong that it blew them away causing Nobita to sprain his ankle and lose his glasses. He remembers Doraemon's warning and thinks of a way out.  

Forcing himself to remember the moment, the two are rescued by Nobita's older self, who recalled the memory.  

His future self said he was in bed with a cold but he remembered this memory. He couldn't sit still so he rushed to come there to rescue them.  

The future Nobita sees Doraemon but refuses to talk to him saying that Doraemon is his friend from childhood. He tells his younger self to cherish his time with him. 

The future Nobita was about to leave but he learns from his younger self that Shizuka was answering to latter's proposition to marry her. He is overjoyed. It means that Shizuka will indeed marry Nobita. 

Both Nobita and Doraemon celebrate and decides to go and watch the wedding. They use the Take Copter and follow Nobita who seems to be in a rush to go to his wedding.  

His future self arrives but is surprised to know that the wedding is happening the day after. The two decided to just stay and watch what happens the day before the wedding. 

The old Nobita receives a call from Suneo reminding him about his bachelor party at Gian's House. Both Doraemon and Young Nobita wear the invisible cape while they watch old Suneo, Gian, and Dekisugi talk about how lucky Nobita is to marry Shizuka. Jaiko interrupts and congratulates Nobita.  

After that, Nobita decides to visit Shizuka that night who was about to say goodnight to her dad,  She seems to have a lot in mind so Doraemon used the Truth Transmitter on her. Shizuka returns to his dad and says he wants to call off the wedding. She says she doesn't want to leave her parents yet as she has not done anything to thank them yet. 

But her father reassures her that her life itself is a gift to them. In addition, her father says he is happy that she has chosen Nobita. Although he is an ordinary guy, he is a good human being who he believes will make her very happy. Hearing that Shizuka's father has also accepted Nobita as his daughter's spouse, Nobita and Doraemon return to the present timeline. 

Nobita visits Shizuka promising that he will make her happy forever whatever it takes. 

As Nobita's future has been changed for the better, Doraemon's programming commands him to return to the future in 48 hours. Knowing this, Doraemon starts to cry. 

Back at their house, Nobita asks Doraemon for a gadget that lets him eat spaghetti through his nose or else Gian will beat him up. 

Doraemon gets mad and tells him he can't help him anymore when he's in trouble. He reveals that he can't stay there anymore. Nobita refuses to accept it and clings to him. Doraemon says that if it's up to him, he'd stay if he could but those words were improper to the program and so he was electrocuted. Doraemon cannot defy the Mission Program. 

Noticing that Doraemon has a hard time leaving due to his worry for Nobita, Nobita confronts and has a brutal fight with Gian to prove that he is able to defend himself without Doraemon. At home, Doraemon waits for NObita and is concerned that he hasn't gone home yet so he looks for him everywhere.  

Finally, he finds him fighting with Gian and cries as he watches from a distance. Seeing that Nobita refuses to give up, Gian forfeits as Doraemon tearfully hugs Nobita. He told him he won by himself and so he doesn't have to worry about him anymore.  

Doraemon takes Nobita home and watches him sleep on his last night before leaving in peace the next day.  

At the park, Suneo tricks Nobita into thinking that he has seen a Tsuchinoko. He tells him to poke it but is surprised to see that it was a dog who eventually runs after. After that, Gian approached Nobita to tell him that he has seen Doraemon. Nobita is overjoyed and runs back to their house.  

He asks his mom if she has seen Doraemon but she says she has not seen him. Nobita thought he's just hiding himself using the invisible cape and so he thinks of tricking him into buying some Dorayaki - his favorite snack. 

He happily walks outside, while Suneo and Gian are laughing at him talking about the lie that they've told him. Apparently, it's April Fool's Day, and Nobita is tricked by Gian into believing that Doraemon has returned.  

Nobita cries at home and he suddenly remembers a gift he received from Doraemon. He gets it from his cabinet and sees a potion called Liar Liar Liquid. If he drinks this, everything he says will become a lie. 

He goes out to ask both Suneo and Gian for an apology. But when they refused, he drank the potion and tricked them. First, he hid then said the weather was nice so it started raining hard. And when he said it was raining hard, the rain stopped. 

Finishing his retribution against Suneo he says he won't be bitten by a dog and so he was chased by a dog trying to bite him 

And for Gian, Nobita says his mom will be super nice to him and so he was dragged away by his mother who was preparing to punish him for not helping out in their shop. 

Nobita goes back home while lamenting that Doraemon will never return.  His mom asks him if he saw Doraemon but he says he did not and that he is not coming back and won't see him again. 

To his surprise, Doraemon suddenly returns and tells Nobita that he has gotten permission to stay with him because Nobita said that Doraemon would never return, still with the effects of the potion, and it became a truth. They both hug and cry in happiness now that they're back together.
