What does Sony and their Soneium mean to the average investor?
We first need to determine what the "average investor" is before anything else.
Definition of average in terms of investing boils down to the point that investors of an average definition is somebody with not too much time, a LITTLE bit of extra income to spare, and not the most in-depth understanding of the market and what it has to offer.
To put a numerical value behind it, let's say it's a range from as little as $1 to as much as $5,000, just to put it simply.
With that being said, back to the point.
Based on Sony and their data, Sony has over 123 million monthly active users ( recorded and tracked back in 2023 ), knowing what form of practices that Sony participates in ( microtransactions, AD spamming, etc., etc., ) I'll say, typical, business practices.
There's going to be some form of advertising that's going to happen either indirectly, or directly on the PlayStation ( of your choice ), envisioning the conversion rate and the useage of the Soneium when it becomes fully rolled out and is finally available for commercial use, which is the point of this mainnet.
Collaborative Ecosystem:
Boasting about this being the beginning of something big is essential when it comes to companies, especially crypto-related. Proactive measures ( i.e grace periods, blacklisting decisions, etc., ) Sony wants to make their Soneium a group project; where I see where this could ultimately going wrong would be in direct correlation to the VR
worlds. There is no solid data to be able to reference and / or link but anybody that currently owns any VR headsets would know what I'm directly referencing - this is not the most accurate / appropriate comparison but this is something brand new that one of the biggest gaming / tech related companies and a first.
My Thoughts:
I feel like this could be something big in the making and should show to other companies in the same sphere as Sony to be able to do the same thing; if not the same thing, then something similar to it at least. I like how mainstream things are becoming in terms of cryptocurrencies. Let's reference ticker symbols ZZZ, BLOK, BITS, IBIT, BTC, YBTC, BITI - for your average daily users / investors, events like this bring us that much closer to full utilization of what the cryptocurrency market was created for and designed to do - be used.
