As a part of me and enjoying my time off from work, I decided to crack open and get into something; Cardsmith and their cryptocurrency adjacent card collecting game.
My first pack, no luck - understandably so, not bound to get anything super insane.
My second pack however? I got what they would consider /deem a chase card. A Redemption Card.
"Meaning what?" You ask.
Based upon what you scratch off is what you win, yes, glorified gambling if you break it down to its most basic / fundamentals.
Nonetheless, off rip - I was able to win 0.001 BTC off of a total of a $156 investment - netting me ( at the time of posting ) right around $95!
Things like this existing in 2024 / modern day technology is crazy. My third and fourth pack, unfortunately, due to me not fully understanding the rarity system ( and there being no reliable source of information online ) I have no way of properly displaying to you guys who pay attention to what I post how much some of the additional cards I pulled and their values are ( translated to USD ) BUT I will say as a first time buyer, we already know that there was definitely first time magic happening behind the scenes; with that being said, I'll give a recap.
Feeling upon opening? 10/10. Anticipation and anxiety filled the air during it.
Redemption process? 10/10 Easy, quick, and simple. Quick wouldn't be the word for the PROPER redemption process ( seeing as it takes 2-6 weeks due to demand, but alas, what can ya do. )
Card stock feeling? 10/10 for the holos, 5/10 for the non-holos. You can tell the non-holos aren't given as much love, understandably so, but coming from somebody with a background in card collecting, it feels like shit seeing the card stock being used as trash.
Overall experience and would I recommend it? Duh. We're all crypto addicts in some way shape or form. Glorified gambling and it being easily accessible are an addicts favorite combination.
