As we, Leeds United supporters, mourned the departure of the one and only, Marcelo Bielsa, changes , as it seems , were already afoot to hire his replacement.

 And so on Monday the new Leeds United man was unveiled. Jesse Marsch did not initially spark much of an enthusiasm amongst the supporters. And why would he. He is an American and we all know that most people in Europe are uncomfortable with American football coaches.  Perhaps they shouldn't be. Jesse Marsch has led RB Salzburg quite successfully over two seasons and his methods result in a modern and exciting style of play.

Jesse spoke to the media on day one and later on during the regular pre-match press duties. His interviews have seemingly won the majority of the supporters already. Of course , he will be properly judged on the basis of results but he does seem to be a likeable individual with plenty of intelligence and good intentions.

So I for one wish him good luck and plenty of success.
