They say it's crazy to be a goalkeeper, I don't need to ask why. This is the same assertion I would use when they say that football is crazy and I don't need to ask why. I love football games that mess with your emotions only to have it then out great in the end. I am speaking as neutral because the fans of the team at the opposing end of the scoreline would never find it funny.

I was surprised to see Villareal race up to a 2-0 lead at halftime. I already predicted that Liverpool would win the game by 3-1 but I didn't expect Villarreal to score first. One thing about teams that are trailing is that they try to score first and I should have thought about that. I felt Liverpool would score first but Villarreal showed they have everything to lose so they gave everything. They have been used to causing upset and they did quite a few this season by dumping out Juventus and then Bayern Munich but they succumbed to a 2-3 defeat at the hands of Liverpool.

Liverpool had to do it the hard way and they have now gotten to the final of every competition they competed in this season. I have to admit that this team is devastatingly good and who says they can't achieve the unthinkable, especially with an attitude like that which they just showed by coming from 2 goals down to win 3-2 and 5-2 on aggregate. A win like this would always instil belief into the team and this is why I said that I believe Manchester City and Liverpool might win all their games to the end of the season.

Villarreal showed character and I have to give them credit for that. They allowed themselves to lose concentration when it mattered and against a team like Liverpool, in a competition like the Champions League, there is no way of recovering from that and they found out the hard way. It shows the progress they have made over the years because they won the Europa League and now they got to the semifinal of the Champions League. This is a testament to the amazing job that Unai Emery is doing with them. They are young and exciting and they are building up the experience as they go.

Whatever Jurgen Klopp told his charge at the break worked magic because a new Liverpool came out after that break and Fabinho got the ball rolling for them before Luis Diaz drew them level and the best goal for me was Salah after he left the goalkeeper for dead as well as the defender and he slotted the ball into the empty net. It was a wonderful game for Liverpool fans and neutrals but certainly not Villarreal fans. They allowed their lead to slip by and they would know better going forward.

There is no stopping this Liverpool side and what I love about them is their belief even if they have to do it the hard way. They gave everything, gave the fans an opportunity to dream again and there is no better time than now when they are in formidable form. I must say that they did it the hard way and that's what made the victory to be sweet and appreciated.

Villarreal would look back at a lot of things that didn't go their way, even the penalty shout but then, they would have to be critical about their moment of relapse that allowed Liverpool back into the game. Liverpool showed they can get the better of Villarreal with the experience they possessed and that worked in their favour.

Congratulations to Liverpool as they are now in the final of the Champions League. They would have to wait till tomorrow to know who their opponent would be between Manchester City, who is a familiar foe or another Spanish counterpart in the name of Real Madrid. Whoever it is, we can be very sure that the final would be as exciting too.
