Today, I walk the paths my fathers used to walk with pride
With tears in my eyes and heaviness in my heart
The thoughts that they turn in their graves
Tears my heart into pieces
Today, I think of the strong
and courageous ones
The ancient warlords and rulers
Full of wit and wisdom
Quick to think and quick to act
Who brought this place to what it used to be
The tales we have heard is better than any story ever
Yet, all we see is ruins and artefacts
No manifestation of the awesomeness she once possessed
She weeps and the hot tears burn out skin
She screams and the noise
hurts our ears
How do we placate our mother Africa?
How do we stop her tears?
How do we make her not scream?
She fights the evil, she is losing and we are suffering
Please tell us
How do we make her
smile again?
Even beautifully and with joy?
Thank you for your time.
My pen doesn't bleed, it speaks, with speed and ease.
Still me,
My tongue is like the pen of a ready writer.
