They carve us open and we feel nothing else matters
We just want to retreat and keep to ourselves
We feel life has no meaning since we can’t have our way
We suspect everyone or most people we come across
We get to the point where we believe happiness is overrated
That is fine and it is normal for you to feel that way
I am here to tell you one simple fact nonetheless
You will love again and it will be like summertime
Hold on and never rule things out because of one hurt
Even if it is an accumulated hurt, see the progress you are making
Sometimes life forces us to grow a thick skin before we move on
Understand the process and never lose sight of who you are
You will love again, I am very certain of that
But would you lose yourself while waiting? That’s another question
Someone is waiting on the wings for who you are
Not who you have chosen to become because of pain
