I believe in the Sun when it's not shining
I believe in the moon even when it's not dark
I believe in love even when others are deceptive
I believe in humans despite their uncertainty
It's hard to believe when the odds are not in your favour
Seeing the reality of discouragement stare at your face
How do you see the light at the end of the tunnel
When there are only rail tracks with no train to ply?
There is no government as every citizen fends for themselves
The rules are even different for the rich and the poor
The elected and the commoners feel it differently
And yet, we are told to still keep the faith
Sometimes, I don't have to see the whole staircase
I just look up into the mirror to see my face
Draw strength from within and know brighter days are nearby
I don't have to see it yet to believe it will come
How do you feature in a future that you can't picture?
I believe in the rain even when it's not in season
Despite the chaos as a result of the obvious bad governance
I still believe in Nigeria and we shouldn't lose that hope.

My pen doesn't bleed, it speaks, with speed and ease.

Still me,

My tongue is like the pen of a ready writer.
