It is funny how football changes so quickly and there is no time to dwell on victory for long when the next game comes quick, thick and fast. It is not surprising when they say "Yesterday's victory is tomorrow's mediocrity." You don't have time to enjoy the victory of the last game because the focus must always be on the next game. The points at hand are worth more than the ones unaccounted for, yet.

Tottenham soon realized this and after their spirited performance against Manchester City, I was expecting them to effortlessly win against this Burnley side even though Burnley are no pushovers. With what I saw against Manchester City, I expected more but you can understand how it might be hard for them because the recovery time is short. Harry Kane was more likely asked to play this game despite suffering a dead leg after the game against Manchester City. That shows that the idea was to win this game but it went wrong on the pitch for Tottenham as they couldn't find an answer before and after Ben Mee's goal in the 71st minute.

Burnley knew it was going well for them which was why they only made one substitution in the entirety of the match so they can keep that shape against Spurs. Spurs missed the chance to go further on the table even if it's just by a step. They still have games at hand but nothing is a certainty in the Premier League except the points you have gotten.

The shocking part of it was the statement Conte made in his Post-Match analysis when he said he is doing so much but it's not enough and it's the right moment to evaluate the club. His body language when he was saying that says a lot as he was expressionless and you could see the pain deeper away from what his expressionless face said. He looked like a man tired and want out of the club he just joined.

How can Spurs go from here? They just blew open the Premier League title challenge with their win against City and now they lost against Burnley and just when you think that's it, the coach spoke in parables to highlight some underlining issues within the club which we are still not sure of.

What is Conte not happy about? Could it be with the players at his disposal? Has the project he had in mind been affected by the club? He didn't get his transfer targets in January? Was he frustrated with the board? Could it be the players that left the club, both on loan and the ones sold? What is really going on and how did Spurs get to this point in just less than 3 days? It begs a lot of questions that only the coach and the board can answer.

Let's face it, it has been a terrible performance from Tottenham of late as they have lost 4 games in 5. Other coaches would have been relieved of their duties but with the games at hand, they were hoping that they can make up for lost grounds with those games but it keeps getting worse. Maybe Conte already knew these results are unacceptable and he gave that post-match conference to prepare his mind for what might look like an exit from the club.

I had high hopes for Tottenham especially when they signed Conte as their coach. I was hoping he would wait for a little while before joining Tottenham so he can come to Manchester United instead due to his passion, ruthlessness and understanding of the game but it's looking like his affair with Tottenham might soon come to an end and Manchester United might get their man eventually after the end of the season. Did Conte deliberately give that post-match talk to force a move away from Tottenham since he wasn't happy with his failed transfer targets in January? There seem to be a lot going on that I can't understand but we can only speculate about and speculations that I just gave doesn't mean I am right, I am only trying so many conspiracy theories as to what could be happening.

If they eventually sack him, I think Manchester United might swoop in and with Manchester United in disarray as a club too, I doubt if he would be able to get his desires over there as well but this is football and the Premier League, we never can tell. We have to wait and see but really, what's happening with Spurs? What do you think of that performance and what Conte said after the match?
