Breaking The Status Quo

“Mediocrity will never do. You are capable of something better.” – Gordon B. Hinckley

Why is competition so virtuous? To answer that, we can ask the question: What would we have without it? Well, the answer to that is simple: Mediocrity; complacency; stagnation… In other words, nothing good. Competition helps us in breaking the status quo.

When nothing is challenged, nothing grows. The seed must fight through the soil, the animals must face the elements, athletes are often fueled by competition simply because an opponent exists; we must struggle and face a challenge to adapt and overcome. No pain, no gain. The value of competition and adversity can be observed over the course of time. When any entity, big or small, is tested, challenged, and in the face of adversity, we see two options put before them: do or die.

Competition fuels us forward, and the opposition creates trouble and decay.  Let us ponder the significance and substance of competition and its relation to the innovative side of the free market. Join us as we continue to discuss competition this weekend on the OTFM Podcast, as well as continuous other topics, ideas and items moving forward in weeks to come. We hope to see the continuous breaking of the status quo in society. We appreciate any feedback and interaction from y’all. Enjoy!
