Why do I say Bitcoin is not at fault for the environmental woes of the planet? The truth of the matter is it isn't, and whatever juice is being burned, sucked, fried globally does not even register on the scale in comparison to the the industrial big hitters.
It is the actual industry that manufactures devices etc that causes much, much more pollution than mining Bitcoin - plus we have our greener rigs these days (facepalm) ... It could be argued the purposeful manufacturing of products, vehicles and property that consume energy as there are no other affordable options on offer and open to the public... The manufacturers of technology and the energy industry are by far the biggest consumers of any resources on this planet, be it mined, drilled or derived.
Then... How about the broken pipelines, huge open and polluted government run garbage tips, radioactive waste, ship wrecks, the crashing of rockets and the detonation of missiles and bombs at sea?
The various human practices are not short of a few energy lessons... But climate emergency?
The educated among us know that the planet is in the midst of a tropical period of the Ice-Age, Sol our parent star will do what the heck it pleases, volcanoes, tropical rainforests, forests, swamps, mangroves, peat bogs, and the biggest of all... The oceans, pump far more toxins, some good some, bad, into the atmosphere in a week than humans have in history.
However... Modern humans are only as good as the tools and services they are given for safe disposal or recycling... Recycling should be at an all time low given the fuss made about recycling over the last 30-years or so... You would think that as heavy consumers of fossil fuels etc - the manufacturers of products, be it technology or food packaging, would have been responsible... Given in all fairness the limitations offered to humanity in the western world to dispose of items or recycle - and let us not forget the hardships of the bloody third world... Trillions of dollars pumped into these places via Charity and Financial Aid... Yet many such nations have never changed or got much worse with progression.
In my opinion, climate change is natural, far too many natural events will occur in the near future, and have occurred recently that have altered the climate - man is but a speck in all this... Passing the buck to the average citizen, trying to scam a green agenda via political propaganda and profiteering is certainly a 'don't pull the wool over my eyes Joe' moment for many scientists that question the climate madness - the peer reviewed papers are there to be seen, and read... Don't let radical political, corporate ideology, and profitable agenda decide for you what is happening to the planet.
Just get back to BTC folk... Pinned global climate agenda onto Bitcoin is just nonsense - and Elon will probably do a flip like one of his rockets in respect to the payment of Tesla vehicles, once he realises the heavy backlash via persons like myself, that will not be purchasing a Tesla model car... Piss off Elon, no chance...
