Dementia is a very complicated condition. The cause of dementia is not completely clear, but it is known that a healthy lifestyle can possibly reduce the risk of dementia. Below are a few factors for a healthy lifestyle and a possibly lower the risk of dementia.

Learn new things
Research has shown that educated people are less likely to develop dementia. Therefore, learning new things and experiencing new things can be a benefit for the prevention of dementia.

Stop smoking
Smoking is not only bad for the lungs. Smoking increases the risk of Alzheimer's disease by 45 percent. So stop smoking. Do you need your help? Contact your doctor.

Maintain a healthy weight
Being overweight increases the risk of dementia. Do you want to read more about obesity? Then read my post "What is obesity and how do I get rid of it?".

Watch your cholesterol
An increased amount of cholesterol in the body increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. And people with cardiovascular disease have an increased risk of dementia. Do you want to read more about cholesterol? Then read my post "Good and bad cholesterol".

Eat healthy
Eating healthy is important. A healthy diet consists of lots of fruits and vegetables, pasta, nuts, seeds, fish and olive oil. Red meat, full-fat dairy products, alcohol, eggs and products with a lot of sugar should be limited.

Exercise enough
I just keep saying it. Exercise is important. Walking, cycling, but also housework are good ways of moving. It is about the effort it takes and which results in better blood circulation.
