Kaido popularity among the fandom

Remember when the first character international popularity poll came out , i think it was last year , and kaido was ranked around mid forties, actually not even forties ,60's . And other antagonist were ranked higher than him.

Can kaido recover and become interesting to rank in popularity for one piece fans .

The arc is already winding to it's conclusion with all major antagonist already defeated. I mean king ,was ....only interesting because he look cool and had some secret history. Which i forget at this point in time. Queen was also ok, there was interesting things to uncover, all the information about MADS and connection to Judge Vinsmoke. 

Who defeated Jack again, i can't even remember, that's a slight jab at how irrelevant i thought this fight was a bit. I'll need to reread this arc when it's over.Ps. Jack was terrifying on Zou, damn really good there.

So what next for Kaido.

It seems like the arc is coming to a close and we still Have no clue , why is Kaido fighting,what's driving him etc. Is it just the generic,  i want the one piece because i am a pirate, and this is what all pirates want trope.

All other major arc villians we figured out what they wanted ,Even by this point in the fight we had a clue for Hordy Jones.And this fight is almost over. If you hadn't read the recent releases yet, spoilers!!. 1047 hints at the end, and if somehow Luffy loses again , then Oda is dragging this way too long.

After all this power ups Luffy has gotten in this arc , and if he loses to Kaido again, what next power up can he get. 

Before Kaido's devil fruit was revealed my working assumption that made me enthusiastic was he was a dragon that ate a devil fruit and his history was related to celestial dragons, then he had a grudge with them and on and on . And this would reveal some history about the world and celestial dragon.  A bit out there , i know but that would have expanded the story, and his lore.

But that's squash , eh.. 

So what things do i want to know about Kaido, ahhmm , Yamato's mom, kaido and Yamato's relationship, is there another side to kaido personality.at this point there isn't any other skills that kaido can showoff because they are all just striking attacks. 

It seems controversial to say this How did we go from doflamingo , to katakuri only to be here with kaido. I feel like something is missing and the fight is almost over.why is he fighting, he wants the one piece, but so does every other pirate.

You can't have the biggest antagonist so far, only goal , just boil down to being generic as  any fodder pirate.

i can't describe kaido in one word, there is no theme to him that i can pinpoint yet. Honor, no, bravado, death and the way of the samurai . That's would be great if the theme was shown a lot throughout the arc. 

Kaido wants to die! Why?This would have been great theme to explore especially being in Wano, model after Edo Japan and samurai's.

Everything i think of Doflamingo i remember how great he was. Doflamingo whole arc boils down 👇 to one word-"control ". He is a fucking celestial dragon, he has strings abilities to manipulate people. That's genius 👍. He smiles  😁 a lot and grins his teeth when he is angry. Again,  control . He is willing to burn down the world if he can't get what he wants .

Same for katakuri, he is simple a guy who is responsible for his family and had honor. He lost the fight mentally and that was his theme. The fight wasn't over because he fell on his back and Luffy pummeled him , it's because his mind was changed. Amazing by Oda. He's not a villian, simply an antagonist.

If anything Luffy being a pirate is the villian, katakuri was just trying to defend his home.

Kaido on the other hand . Oda has a very good way of defeating villians , not just physically but in a way that destroy the theme the villian represent. Crocodile was brought to the light. Doflamingo was sent crashing. Katakuri, fell on his back. What theme is Kaido , that Luffy can destroy. I don't know yet. It hasn't been made clear to me , does anyone know ,write it in the comments below.

Hey i am writing this before the arc is completed, and i might be proven wrong and this would not age well. Until then i struggle to see what left can come out to make him be the greatest villian in the story up to this point.
