PayPal? Not available in Nigeria.
Stripe? Blocked.
Some clients won't even work with Nigerian accounts.
For a long time I felt like the system was designed to keep us out. Every time I found an opportunity, there was a wall. And I got tired of it.
So I stopped complaining and started looking for the door.
Here's what I found:
Deel lets you receive international payments straight to your Nigerian bank account. Legit. No stress.
Payoneer works where PayPal doesn't. Many freelance platforms pay directly to it and you can withdraw to your GTB, Access, or Zenith without drama.
Grey and Chipper Cash are built specifically for Africans getting paid in dollars. You get a US account number, receive your money, convert at good rates.
Crypto - USDT specifically - is how a lot of Nigerians receive client payments quietly and convert on Binance P2P. No middleman. No wahala.
The system wasn't built for us. Fine.
But people are still eating. Still building. Still collecting dollars from their phones in Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, In fact everywhere.
The block is real. But the loophole is also real.
You just have to be willing to look for it.
Which of these have you used before? Let me know in the comments ๐
