Hello everyone, time for another @thepeoplesguild challenge! And man, bjangles isn't making this easy for us, but it's great fun and yet another way to be busy with splinterlands related activities, my wife sometimes get crazy with all my splinterlands things... 🤣
If you're a splinterlands player, you should definitely check out this challenge yourself, and take part with it when you can find some time.
As we all know, Matt has done so much for the game so he deserves a big thank you!
I designed a Matt inspired summoner with a little help from bjangles delivering me the rebellion frames because I couldn't find them anywhere, thanks for that.
The lore
In the mystical world of Splinterlands, Yabamatt was a legend whispered about in both reverence and fear. Born under the sign of twin moons, Yabamatt possessed a unique mastery over two opposing forces: the tranquil yet treacherous waters of the Water Splinter and the dark, ominous powers of the Death Splinter. His control over these elements was unparalleled, allowing him to summon creatures from the depths of the ocean and the shadows of the underworld.
As a young apprentice, Yabamatt’s talents caught the attention of powerful summoners. But his heart sought more than just glory in battle—he desired balance. He understood the delicate harmony between life and death, water and shadow, and believed that true mastery lay in uniting these opposing forces.
In the heat of battle, Yabamatt’s summons were a sight to behold. Ocean drakes swirled in violent whirlpools, while skeletal warriors crawled from beneath the earth, their empty eyes gleaming with unnatural light. Opponents often underestimated him, thinking his divided mastery would leave him vulnerable. But Yabamatt wielded his duality with precision, a tide that surged and receded with the inevitability of death itself.
Many say Yabamatt’s power comes not just from the elements he controls, but from a deeper connection to the realm of Splinterlands itself, as though he were the living embodiment of its endless struggle and harmony. Legends foretold that one day, Yabamatt would rise not just as a summoner, but as a force capable of reshaping the very nature of the splinters. For in his hands, water and death were not enemies, but two halves of an eternal, powerful whole.
Meet Matt Bloodclaw
Matt Bloodclaw can summon both of my favorite splinters, Water and Death, he protects his entire team with a +1 armor buff, heals the tank every turn and gives the Shatter ability to his entire team.
He is a legendary summoner with a 7 mana cost.
Tactics
I haven't included the tactics part in the picture but I did think about this feature while driving yesterday 😁
You can choose between two tactics sets as always;
Endurance: This Gives 2 health to the entire team as well as the double strike ability to 1 unit
OR
Focus: This ignores the taunt ability in the opposing team
Dispel: This removes status effects include: inspire, protect, strengthen, swiftness, martyr, enrage and bloodlust.
(When thinking about matt and how he always calmly answers questions in townhalls, I thought about a new ability cancelling enrage but then I figured dispel already did this and a lot more)
This was a fun one to think about, about half of the time I spent just about thinking about what cool tactics I could use, it's way more fun than listening to the radio 😁
I hope you like it, I'm going to check out my competitors, I won't be the best I'm sure but it was fun to make and think about this one!
