So, what to talk about? so many choices, I'm playing Splinterlands almost every day so there's a lot going on with everything you can do in the Splinterverse. Pretty much the only thing preventing me to play is a really long day at work, when I'm tired my brain can't handle all the different card options and strategies so I end up loosing a lot, better to skip a day and let my battle energy recharge a bit, and - EVERY Tuesday the maintenance is preventing me to play, in my time zone it starts at 17:30 - right after dinner, exactly in my play time on work days from roughly 18:00 to 19:30 or so, it's just bad luck for me 😅.

The most remarkable thing that happened inside the Splinterverse for me is the shift in sentiment, finally I'm seeing some positivity in our X community, on Discord I'm only active inside my own guilds chat.
The recent changes really made an impact, things needed to change for the long term health of the game, and while card prices and other Splinterlands related assets like SPS and Land Plots are really low because of people leaving, it's a great opportunity to snag some deals! But it's so hard to choose what to get - I went for more SPS and I passed the 45K last week! 😊
On X I saw someone posting he bought a magical land plot for only $28 🤑 that's a good deal for sure!

The cool thing about better times is new players start to get interested again, and we got a new member on our NFG team too, I think it's cool to guide new players and help them where I can, welcome to the team @w0l0l0!

No Splinterlands post without some kind of awesome battle of course...

So the main topic for this week is Baakjira! Being a Silver player before, I already owned a 1BCX version and made use of it every once in a while, mainly as a relatively cheap (6 mana) high HP meat shield against magic teams because of the Void, but since I upgraded my deck to Gold level, where Baakjira gets the healing ability it's a force of its own when you weapons train it, +2 HP from Possibilus and with a good amount of attack from Kulu Mastermind or Daarg Deadblast maybe, and the 6 mana card is turned to a really annoying one to deal with for every opponent, and basically the only way to stop it is doing very high damage and bringing Affliction to stop the healing...

The battle I want to share for this post is a 38 mana Armored Up battle in the Modern League, with the Earth and Life splinters locked out, in the recently played battles I could see my opponent likes to play magic, and he has a max level deck!

First look at the battlefield:

Well, at least that deck isn't FULLY maxed out, and I was right in anticipating a magic heavy team and I brought some good counters, I should be OK... my opponent even has a Runi! and they're pretty dangerous, so let's see what happens!

My Line-Up:

• Summoner: Possibilus the Wise - reason: +2 HP to maximize healing, the Trample is also very nice.
• First position: Baakjira - reason: Magic protection, Self Heal.
• Second position: Kulu Mastermind - reason: Weapon Train surrounding cards while he's fast with high damage and high HP, it's a great card!
• Third position: Merdaali Guardian - reason: Also a very good improvent to Gold.. Tank Heal AND Repair.
• Fourth position: Musa Saline - reason: Shatter.
• Fifth position: Swamp Spitter - reason: Repair, good ranged damage.
• Sixth position: Doctor Blight - reason: Affliction and Poison.

The Battle:

Round 1: Because of the massive healing and opportunity monsters running in to armor first, not a lot has happened just yet...

Round 2: The enemy tank is killed, but a weapons trained Riftwing can be a pain in the ass too, just not as much as a self healing Baakjira 😁

Round 3: Without Affliction against this team it's kind of useless to even attack, my repair is keeping the Runi busy (and useless) and the 6 magic damage the team does is healed back easily by the double heal, RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!

Round 4: Two more kills, two left, the Will-O-Wisp is poisoned already.

Round 5: And the honor goes to the star of this battle, Baakjira, making the final blow, killing the Runi.

Well the Glint is not much but I like the SPS already even at this low rating, I also just earned 81 SPS by finishing 23rd in a tournament!
