from urban farms to compost bins, learn how we provided engaging hands-on experiences, connected scientific principles to everyday life and forged unforgettable memories for our P1-P6 students

Collaborated with other departments to design interdisciplinary projects that benefitted the community

Curated SLS Young Scientist Badge Scheme packages aligned to STELLAR units (P1-P2) & Science curriculum (P3-P6)

Extension activities ready for exploration
Integrated ALP - Plant Tissue Culture into the Science curriculum for Tier 1 (P3-P5) & Tier 2 (P3-P6)

Food waste ready for transformation
Guided 11 P6 Eco-Stewards through two pilot composting projects as part of Project Think, Eat & Save 2.0

Interdepartmental collaboration ready for ripening
Carried out interdisciplinary projects that not only enhanced students'
appreciation of Science around them but also benefitted the community

ALP members pooled together to create one streamlined pathway and implemented innovative initiatives (e.g. SLS YSBS
packages, ALP-PTC extension activities, urban farming efforts, and composting projects) that required students to work together as part of Project Work
and Shared Learning Experiences.

Lessons connect to what students grow and learn across various subjects, thus making rich and relevant
Packages integrate seamlessly into the school’s existing Project Work packages, thus streamlining cross-departmental collaboration efforts and enhancing student learning
Our curated SLS YSBS packages not only encourage self-directed learning, but
also enable motivated students to earn physical Young Scientist Badges issued by the Science Centre, as well as electrical and magnetic kits. This allows students to take greater ownership of their learning and celebrate their efforts.

Our Synergy

As the black soldier fly larvae break down food waste into compost, students
gain first-hand insights into the life cycle of these useful insects
Cocopeat accelerates the composting process
