Hi everyone! Welcome back to my weekly Splinterlands blog, where I will be covering this weeks Battle Mage Secrets challenge about the Knock Out ruleset.
To find out how you can enter the challenge yourself, check out the Splinterlands post here.
All units gain the Knock Out ability.
Be sure to include a unit with Stun in your lineup to trigger the Knock Out ability.
Since I'm playing in modern and wild Silver league and never higher, I don't know how it is like in those upper leagues, but I rarely make use of this ruleset, not that I NEVER use it, I have only one nice good knockout monster, the Revealer in my Death team, but like some other rulesets I really see this one as a secondary ruleset, maybe I should make some more use of it though, because doing double damage is pretty nice and can take out the enemy tank real fast.
I just checked Splintercards.com to see what cards has to stun ability at lower level, I don't think it's updated for Riftwatchers though, we got some more stun monsters in there.

The battle I want to share today is a battle with my main account in Wild Silver league, a little earlier in the season, it's a 39 mana Knock Out / Equal Opportunity battle, especially with ruleset combinations like this, I pretty much ignore the Knock Out rule, because my stun monster would get killed too fast anyway.
So this was really a opportunity match, with this ruleset, you're going to want to fire before your enemy does, normally I would go for Quix here because it nerfs the enemy team's speed and dragon has some nice fast monsters, but in this case, my opponent liked to play the green team a lot, so I went for Grandmaster Rathe, somewhat risky because it's very vulnerable against Immortalis, but... No Guts, No Glory!

First look at the battlefield:
I was right in anticipating the green team, and good for me it wasn't Immortalis, my opponent has some nice cards I wouldn't mind to have 😁 Flesh Golem, a nice level Mylor and a level 2 Kron!
He made the error to not play a martyr card in my opinion but maybe it's just me and I just LOVE my martyrs boosting my other cards.
This fight was extra rewarding to win in the fun factor because when I started playing in 2021, Mylor was really dominating in Bronze, and I didn't own a Mylor so I have some grudges against him lol, that in combination with Kron is really nice to beat such a team.
A lot of players just spam those strong cards and expect to win a lot, for the record, this player doesn't, he or she has a really nice deck. I'm talking about the Yodin and Llama / Kron spammers out there, but with the new sets, I think both of them are less strong now with good counters available then before, but I'm getting a bit off-topic now, sorry about that.
My Line-Up:
- Summoner: Grandmaster Rathe - reason: Void Armor because I anticipated magic and it gives the whole team 1 extra hit with opportunity.
- First position: Chaos Knight - reason: A little risk spreading, because I wasn't sure it would be all magic, I nerfed magic with void armor, so I wanted to mitigate physical damage too with shield.
- Second position: Pelacor Conjurer - reason: Fast, evasive, spell reflect.
- Third position: Djinn Renova - reason: Good magic damage output.
- Fourth position: Venari Marksrat - reason: Martyr!
- Fifth position: Adelaide Brightwing - reason: Repair, Resurrect, martyr x2!
- Sixth position: War Pegasus - reason: Fast, evasive and has the shatter ability.
O, by the way, 2 days ago I had a really nice pull in my rewards, a Gold Foil War Pegasus! 😍

So my strategy was: let the martyr get killed, boosting my Renova and Brightwing, get it resurrected for another round of boosting, Brightwings repair should give my team a little more survivability, I brought a shatter because that's always nice against some beefy tanks or annoying monsters that bring Protect, like Queen Mycellia. The conjurer was there to reflect magic and let lower HP monsters kill themselves.
The Battle:
Round 1: Ureaus was killed right away, pretty useless to bring a low HP monster to a opportunity battle in my opinion, the 3 mana would have been better use on a martyr card and put it in the 2nd position, but I'm not complaining @walistambo 😁 (or is it a bot??).
My martyr died for the first time.

Round 2: The enemy team is pretty thinned out already, my martyr died for the second time, so my magic team is now in beast mode lol.

Round 3: One more down, only two to go, but Kron is always a force to be reckoned with.

Round 4: Only Kron left, and too much damage output from my team to heal against, besides, Krons damage is going to get absorbed with Chaos Knight's Void Armor, and repaired back again by Brightwing so yeah... you're going to lose!

Round 5 - FINAL ROUND:
It's a WIN!
