At NOWNodes, we're excited to announce the successful integration of the BNB Chain Maxwell hard fork, which brings groundbreaking improvements to network speed and dApp performance. As a trusted blockchain infrastructure provider, our node services are now fully updated to support all the latest protocol changes, ensuring our partners and users continue to experience seamless access to the BNB Chain ecosystem.
What Changed with the Maxwell Upgrade?
The Maxwell hard fork has effectively reduced the average block time to just 0.75 seconds, cutting it in half from the previous 1.5-second interval set by April’s Lorentz upgrade. This marks a major milestone in the BNB Chain roadmap, showcasing a strong commitment to scalability and application responsiveness.
The performance boost was made possible by the implementation of BEP-524, a proposal aimed at:
-
Enhancing the responsiveness of blockchain applications
-
Improving user experience across DeFi and GameFi sectors
-
Reducing latency in dApp interactions
Additional Upgrades: BEP-563 and BEP-564
Maxwell also introduced BEP-563 and BEP-564, which further strengthen the BNB Chain validator and messaging systems:
-
BEP-563 increases validator efficiency by improving block communication speed and reducing synchronization delays, thus minimizing the risk of missed votes.
-
BEP-564 adds two new message types to support multi-block operations within a single call — a key enhancement for developers building more complex smart contracts and applications.
NOWNodes: Ready for the Next Generation of BNB Chain
Following our earlier successful adaptation to the Pascal hard fork in April—which focused on enhancing EVM compatibility—we’re proud to be among the node providers to fully implement Maxwell. These continual improvements reaffirm our dedication to delivering high-speed, reliable, and up-to-date access to leading blockchain networks.
Whether you’re building the next DeFi protocol, a cutting-edge GameFi platform, or integrating BNB Chain into your existing product, NOWNodes ensures full compatibility and uptime.
