Learning qualifications and Blockchain technology
Learning is important. We are going though a period of time when Learning & Development started becoming catalysts of corporate performance. At the same time, univesity degress experience a real challenge of their authority, as knowledge becomes more and more approachable on any device linked to the internet. Not only that, but the revolution of MOOCs (Massive Oopen Online Courses) has won acceptance and active support by thousands of academics, corporations and non-profit organisations. So what does that have to do with Blockchain?
Learning is fragmented. Particularly when it comes to collecting certificates for a disperse and varied training ecosystem. The variety of formal non-formal and informal training providers makes collating and classifying all this information hard and questionable some times not only for students and professionals but also for unemployed people looking for a job, recruiters and HR departments.
The solution can be found on the unique value proposition of blockchain technology where all information is recorded on an immutable ledger and only the key holders of a powerful cryptographic key can add to that database, e.g. a crypto Curriculum Vitae.
How many times people have to alter the information on their CV and customise it for their next job application? How many times do hiring managers need to verify the credentials of a candidate before the final offer? How many doctors/laywers/politicians/professors have manipulated their resume and counterfeit a PhD? All that will be gone with a crypto CV based on blockchain.

“An educational institute on the platform can list courses, manage training batches and issue certificates. Thereby, this blockchain-based platform minimises the possibility of fraudulent certifications being issued. Nor can individuals tamper with their credentials.” 1
Finally comes the time where all the life-long learning actions someone took in her life, all the “love of learning” our teachers were trying to instill in our minds comes to fruition. We are our choices and in a world where business needs keeps changing anf automation is taking away most of the predictable and mundane office tasks, people really need to show all their learning achievements, regardless of the education setting.
The pandemic accelerated the work/learn from home trend and the digital transformation is taking over the educatio and vocational training sectors. Elon Musk said univesrities degrees don't matter as much as they used to. 2 Sir Ken Robinson had said that the current education system was killing creativity (a very important trait these days) 3.

As Hristian Daskalov, R&D Lead at Opensource University stated, "Businesses will be able to aggregate and assign crowdsourced programmes from multiple providers” 4.
Another initiative that aims to bring together students, corporations, universities and training providers in the StudentCoin organisation which is launcing soon its own token #studentcoin to facilitate the tokenization of Education. 5
Stay tuned for more news, as this digital transformation into blockchain ecosystems is just taking off!
