Everyone dreams of making it big. Getting enough money to be set for life; to live the life of a millionaire with the effort of a child, and, most importantly, dodge the 9-to-5 career path for instant millions of dollars in crypto. Social media greatly hyped the million-dollar-overnight mentality; now most people believe crypto is the easy way out of hard work and into money, but the truth is built otherwise.
You don't just choose to mine, trade crypto or invest in new tokens one day then have a constant and reliable income the next day. Most people fail or give up within the first few weeks. To dissect the problem, we have to separate all these people into 3 categories: the unemployed trying to enter the crypto market to get income, the unemployed but with financial support (young adults or teenagers) trying to do crypto in order not to have an actual job, and those switching to crypto while actively employed.
So... Why do you struggle doing crypto as a full time job?
1)Unemployed Novices
Entering the space with tight funds maybe a few dollars to spare, which should not be a really big problem since in the crypto market a few dollars could turn into thousands (with time, of course), but then, there is a catch, every single dollar invested could be used for bills, groceries or invested else where. The market volatility feels intense when you lose just a dollar, pressure stacks, and desperation sneaks in, resulting in bigger risks on highly unpredictable tokens, hoping for a fast breakthrough. You fail because of desperation to get a sustainable income whereas the crypto world requires a systematic strategy in order to succeed - but it is difficult to maintain one when under pressure.
2) Supported or dependent?
Students or young adults living at home, turn their head from traditional entry-level jobs or careers and head to the more appealing crypto as an immediate alternative to a "j*b".
Most young adults start off with a strict budget of 0$ and try to multiply that amount to something which could last them their life, however the simple fact that they start with no capital and set unrealistic goals demotivates most of them from ever continuing and trying to finish off what they had started, the problem here is not really the capital (although its a great cause too) but rather the difference between expectations and reality. Crypto will not replace your future job if you invest only a small amount of your resources (time included).
3)Too much stress over here
The usual scenario of a 9-to-5: stuck in unfulfilling jobs with a salary which pays the bills but leaves the dreams in debt, so you try to switch up the monthly salary for active trading or yield farming on the side. Trying to hold down a full-time job while analyzing charts, reading projects updates, or executing trades leads straight to burnout. Divided attention cause fatigue, missed risk-management cues and logically collapses into impulsive choices. You've got the money (somewhat) but not the energy or time, juggling between side projects like crypto and your main job drains exhausts both your energy and capital and as a result you end up broke and tired; in brief, far from the dream.
TIPS for success
To build a real foothold in crypto without falling into these traps, with less of the "get-rich-quick" mindset and a professional one, keep these steps in mind:
- Protect Your Capital: Never trade on invest money you can't afford to lose. Keep your living expenses and emergency saving completely separate from you crypto asset portfolio.
- Treat like a business, not the lottery: Set strict rules for yourself, define your risk tolerance per trade clearly and don't let FOMO dictate your entries ( or you might end up facing OMOF (Oh Man! Our Funds Are Gone) ).
- Build Skills Gradually: Do not quit your day job for overnight miracles, instead spend months studying market fundamentals, technical analysis, and risk management while having a stable source of income.
- Relax, it takes time: A sustainable income in crypto comes from patience and disciplined asset allocation not from chasing the latest viral coin.
