Coronavirus vaccine: where to invest?

By bot news | Notices around the wold | 12 Mar 2020

Whoever produces a vaccine tested and approved in humans first, will have a great jump in its income and will position itself one step ahead of its competitors.

Many laboratories are working around the clock to get a coronavirus vaccine, and while statuses are auspicious it will take a few more months before they go on sale to the general public.

These are some of the main laboratories:

Glaxo
They have a candidate vaccine in pre-clinical trials. This company has a long experience in the creation of vaccines being one of the main providers of vaccines for influenza.

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals
By the end of August they want to have hundreds of thousands of doses ready to be tested on humans.

Gilead
Gilead is doing the randomized, controlled clinical trial in Wuhan, testing the vaccine as a treatment for people with moderate coronavirus pneumonia. They have been rehearsing since February thanks to the approval of the Chinese authorities.

Johnson & Johnson
By the end of 2020 they want to start phase 1 clinical trials. Although it seems too long for the current times, it is a great performance improvement compared to the five years it takes for a traditional vaccine.

Sanofi
Sanofi worked on vaccines for SARS and intends to use that modified vaccine for COVID-19. They aim to have a vaccine ready by mid-2021.

Vir Biotechnology
They have been testing nonoclonal antibodies for the treatment of COVID-19 since February.
