Bitcoin: From Innocence to Experience

By souba | Not Another Poem | 19 May 2020

I got a coin when I was five

But it was not a bitcoin

Went to a shop, got one sweet

That was something else

Collecting coins in my piggybank

Was it centralized or otherwise?

Could it be out of thin air?

Could it be a computer?

Stumbling upon the bitcoin one day

Sitting at the corner of a newspaper

Promising riches to anyone

A better life to someone

Picked up my piggy

Dropped it suddenly

Mystery to many

Myth to some

Thinking about the bitcoins

I passed the ice cream shop

Will you take bitcoins?

Asked me amused,

"Who made these bitcoins?"

A man who cannot be found they say

I answered reluctantly

Impalpable like the bitcoin

As Wordsworth once said, " Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings...." I feel that poetry is the highest form of literary work. Today, people tend to overlook poetry, never realizing that poetry is everywhere. It is in songs, quotes, speeches and in so many literary and non literary works. I begin my journey to impress poets and non poets alike. Nevertheless, I believe everyone is a poet, composing ephemeral verses every now and then consciously or unconsciously.
