Recently i posted about how John Cantrell hacked a btc address and transferred almost 1 btc to his own address. Here's a link to the post if you are yet to read it.

Now in a recent interview Cantrell said that even though he was able to crack the address but it was only possible because of the fact that the giveaway owner had disclosed 8 phrases out of his 12 phrase key and even then it was a very resource intensive task.

“It would take the same system that brute forced the last 4 words of his mnemonic 837 quintillion millennium to brute force all possible 12 word mnemonics [...] if you know as few as 5 words. To brute force all 12 words (just to break even on your $100B investment, assuming you can actually liquidate all the BTC) still takes 422 TRILLION YEARS.”

So fret not. as long as only you have access to your private keys your bitcoin is safe and always remember NOT YOUR KEYS,NOT YOUR COIN.
