I've been creating digital, and analog art long before cryptocurrency was ever thought of. I was in the very early days of digital art when ANSi art was all the rage. One might say that ANSi Art is the original digital art, and they would be right. We are talking very early 1990's just before the internet was about to take off and BBSs were king, and ANSi Artists were gods. We had 16 colors and a hand full of blocky high ascii characters to work with. I'm sure you have seen Mindcraft, the art was very much like that (only we were much more creative). The major difference between that movement and todays NFT craze, is that ANSi Art was not driven by huge paydays like NFT's. We where all real artists making art because we loved making art.
Below you'll find some ANSi snippets I've done over the years.

Don't get me wrong every artist would love a huge payday... but there is a huge problem! Now with NFTs and some huge paydays, everyone wants in on the action. NFTs are being creating just to cash in... and most of them are just plain awful and shouldn't even be considered art. A lot NFTs are computer generated with hardly any human interaction. to be honest a Bored Monkey could do it. Real artists who love making art are lost in the shuffle, and their work is not being seen by serious collectors. The greatest thing being lost here is "The Art of Making Art".
