How to run a project on Discord to attract a large number of members?

By Aaronaa | NFT and not only | 7 May 2023

Taught by experience, today she wants to share her experience in running a project on the Discord platform.
Perhaps this will help beginners to build a strong and committed community, because after all, based on the community, the project works well or badly.

Before you start promoting a project on Discord, it's important that you have a clear purpose for the project.

Do you want to gather a community with common interests, work together on a project or just share content?
Setting a goal will allow you to focus on a specific group of recipients and adjust your activities to their needs.

Leader

Once you have a project goal in mind, you can focus on building a community that will support your project.
How to do it?
1. Create a welcome channel where new members can introduce themselves and feel welcome. Encourage them to present their interests, passions or goals so that they can find common interlocutors on thematic channels.

2. Create a variety of topic channels that cover different fields and interests. You can create channels for specific topics, games, movies, music or even hobbies. Make sure each channel has a meaningful name and description so members can easily identify what the conversation is about.

3. Be active on the Discord server by regularly adding new content, asking members for their opinions, and initiating conversations. This will help keep the server active and encourage others to participate in the discussions.

4. Organize various types of events, such as contests, tournaments or live streams. This can attract members' attention and encourage active participation. Remember about prizes that can further encourage members to participate.

5. Encourage members to collaborate and interact with each other. You can organize joint projects, online team games or even Q&A sessions with guests related to the subject of the server. This will allow members to build relationships and engage in conversations on thematic channels.

6. Make sure you deliver high-quality content on your Discord server. This may include interesting articles, guides, interviews or videos. Members will be more likely to engage and share content they find valuable.

7. Provide active server moderation to maintain a positive atmosphere and prevent spam or toxic behavior. Members will feel more comfortable if they know that the server is well moderated and that their opinions and safety are protected.

8. Use various promotion channels, such as online forums, social groups, server-related websites, etc. Demonstrate the value and uniqueness of your server to attract new members.

9. As a team leader, remember to actively participate and engage in conversations on the server. Be friendly, kind and responsible. Build relationships with members, listen to their opinions and ideas, and be ready to answer questions and help.

10. Regularly inform members about new features, updates and plans on the Discord server. This will keep them interested and encourage them to use different thematic channels.

Remember that attracting and engaging a large number of members on a Discord server takes time, patience, and effort.
Continue your promotional efforts, listen to member feedback, and adjust your activities to ensure an engaging experience for every attendee.

Discord as a meeting place for different cultures interested in cryptocurrencies

The involvement of the team is extremely important for the success of the project.
Involved team members are the key to successfully managing a project on Discord and attracting more members.
Why? :
1. Engaged team members are motivated to act and put more effort into project development. They are ready to engage in discussions, generate new ideas and take initiatives, which translates into greater attractiveness of the project for other users.

2. A committed team creates a positive atmosphere on the server. By actively interacting, answering questions and providing support, team members can create a friendly and supportive environment for new users, which encourages them to be active and stay on the server longer.

3. A committed team is a role model for other members of the community. When project leaders and team members are engaged and active, other members feel inspired to participate in conversations and activities on the server. This can attract more users and increase community activity.

4. A committed team is more effective in achieving project goals. Cooperation, sharing knowledge and skills, and joint problem solving contribute to more effective project management. This, in turn, can attract the attention of other users who see that the project has a well-organized and dynamic team.

It is important that project leaders create an atmosphere in which team members feel involved, valued and motivated to participate in the project.
Regular communication, participation in discussions, and shared goals are key to keeping the team engaged and attracting more members to the Discord server.

Members

What if most of the team is not active?

In such a situation, it is worth taking several actions to encourage other members to become more involved.

Here are some suggestions:
1. Contact other team members individually and find out why they are not active. They can have various reasons, such as lack of time, lack of motivation or unclear expectations. It is important to listen to their views and understand what their needs and limitations are.

2. Clearly define roles and expectations for each team member. If other members are unaware of their tasks or don't know how to get involved, they may be less likely to be active. Make a list of responsibilities and share it with team members so that they have a clear action plan.

3. Emphasize the importance of the project and explain why the activity and involvement of team members are crucial for its success. Set goals that are motivating and accessible so team members have a specific goal to achieve. It can spur them to action.

4. Make sure you maintain regular communication with your team. Hold regular meetings, both online and offline, to discuss project progress, share information, and express gratitude for team members' contributions. It is important that members feel involved and informed.

5. Create a friendly, supportive and inspiring atmosphere on your Discord server. Encourage members to share their ideas, suggestions and successes. Remember to recognize and reward their efforts, which can further motivate them to become more involved.

6. If there is a need for more activity, consider recruiting new team members. This can bring fresh ideas and energy, as well as increase the number of active participants on the Discord server.

Team

What if your team members are active in a private channel but not engaged in general channels?

To encourage them to interact more with your community, there are a few strategies you can use:

1. Remind team members of the existence of general channels and encourage them to participate regularly. Tell them how important it is to engage in conversations and interact with other members of the community. You can highlight the benefits of sharing knowledge, establishing relationships, and building a reputation as an active member of the community.

2. Create regular topical discussions in general channels that will be of interest to team members. You can propose interesting questions, discuss current trends, share tips and ideas. This can encourage team members to actively participate and share their knowledge.

3. Encourage team members to collaborate with other community members. They can create joint projects, organize events, exchange experiences or provide support to other members. This can help you connect with others and motivate you to be more active on general channels.

4. As a team leader, be active in general channels and set an example for your team. Ask questions, initiate discussions, provide answers and engage in conversations. Your example can encourage other members to be active.

5. Recognize and reward team members for their activity on general channels. You can give awards, recognize their achievements or commend them publicly for their contributions to the community. This can motivate other members to interact more.

6. Regularly report to team members on project progress and community reactions in general channels. Share information about membership growth, activity and positive interactions. This can increase the awareness of team members.

If I had this knowledge today, I would run the project completely differently.

I hope that these tips will help you avoid mistakes when choosing people who will have permission to moderate the server and help integrate the team to work for the good of the project. GL 🍀
