On July 31, synthetic asset platform Synthetix (SNX) offered an update on its roadmap, detailing several significant offerings for the latter half of 2020. New features and developments include synthetic futures, a rebrand of the exchange and deeper Chainlink (LINK) integration.

After covering the releases and milestones of H1 2020, the team explained what it would be focusing on going forward. Product, decentralization and security are the broad categories under which most planned updates fall.
Among product updates, changes will include a price index, trading incentives and synthetic futures, with the latter being most notable of all new features. The team expects it to take up a majority of the future Synthetix.Exchange trading volume, allowing them to open leveraged long or short positions on any supported asset. Synthetix introduced binary options trading in early July.
The exchange will undergo a rebrand to more align with the identity of the project, to “unify the various dApps and interfaces under the Synthetix brand and synthetix.io domain, clarifying how they all connect to the Synthetix protocol."
Multiple improvement proposals are planned, including implementing phase 2 of the Chainlink oracle integration. The proposal would use oracles for all assets, not just fiat currencies and commodities. Other improvement proposals will focus on main protocol improvements and “Keeper Synths”, which will change pricing functions.
