Bologna Beats Milan: A Night to Remember

By GioeleJOY10 | News JOY | 15 May 2025

Nobody really expected it, but Bologna pulled it off. After more than 50 years without a major trophy, they won the Coppa Italia, beating Milan 1-0 in Rome.

The match wasn’t packed with chances, but it was tight, full of tension. Then, early in the second half, Dan Ndoye found himself in the right place. A deflection, a bit of confusion in the box, and he just placed it in. Simple, but huge.

Milan tried to respond. They pushed, made attacking changes, looked for space. But Bologna stayed compact. Focused. Maybe not flashy, but determined.

Ferguson, who had taken a hit earlier, kept things ticking in midfield. Not his most elegant game, maybe, but full of heart. The kind of performance that doesn’t always get headlines but matters when trophies are on the line.

When the final whistle came, it was chaos on the Bologna bench. Some players collapsed to the ground, others ran in every direction. You could see what it meant. After decades of waiting, they had finally done it.
