Robinhood to Acquire WonderFi

Yep your favorite Crypto App to spend $179 Million to acquire WonderFi.

Here in the USA Robinhood is wildly known for democratizing access to investing. This deal provides Robinhood access to the Canadian market. The deal is expected to close in 1H25. 

What powered this acquisition?

Sure Robinhood's great earnings and balance sheet. However, I suspect the growing retail demand and the need to expand into the worlds fastest growing crypto market drove this deal. Sure, that's 100% speculation on my behalf as I don't have contacts inside either firm!

Did you know that Mr. Wonderful (AKA Kevin O'Leary) owned WonderFi?

WonderFi operated both Bitbuy and Coinsquare crypto exchanges. The famous Shark on Shark tank, has investments in all sorts of growing areas with Crypto being just a small percentage for Mr. Wonderful
