OCC's Brian Brooks opinion piece on DeFi

Today Tuesday 1/12/21 the OCC's, Brian Brooks had an opinion piece published in the Financial Times (FT), yep the pink paper folks!

Premise of the piece - thinks that DeFi can root out bias and fraud in traditional banking

Who is Brooks? He is the Acting Comptroller of the Currency, and formerly the leader of Coinbase's legal team. He put forward the need to reconfigure banking regulations for an age of algorithms.  Brooks is optimistic that regulators will find it easier to work with algorithms than with bankers. The OCC charters and directs national banks. Brooks has been a major proponent of integrating crypto technology into the national payments system

Why is this important? We need forward looking leaders to bring us into the new digital era not just be copy cats! We want the best system not a shined up turd!
