FIFA to launch own Blockchain on AVAX
What is FIFA?
I know this sounds like an ignorant way to start a topic however, here in the USA Soccer is not the #1 sport. That would be American Football. I digress, FIFA is the world governing body of association football (soccer), founded in Paris in 1904. They have 211 members and perhaps is the most prestigious sports organization in the world. The organize soccer/futbol events all around the world.
Why did FIFA sign with Avalanche (AVAX)?
They partnered to build their own blockchain, if you recall FIFA was going to build it on Algorand and dropped that project, interesting. FIFA commented that this would be a L1 blockchain built for fan engagement, digital collectables including NFTs. The blockchain will be called FIFA Blockchain and will be used to develop more Web3 projects
What is Avalanche bringing to the new partnership?
Avalanche brings their enhanced speed, scalability, and seamless wallet integration to the FIFA partnership.
AVAX was up 9% at the time of this writing based upon this news and is up 14% since the start of the week. Let's Go!
Kraken Tokenized offerings
Kraken to offer Tokenized Stocks for Apple, Tesla, & Nvidia and over 50 other U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). This puts Kraken in direct competition with RobinHood which has been trading. As everyone is aware competition is great for all, this will be an interesting development. Assume more to come in this space.
Summary
Is FIFA signing w/ AVAX a game changer? It has me wondering do we need another L1 blockchain? Sure, it helps Web3 overall, but I have my doubts about the longevity.
In terms of Kraken tokenizing Public stocks of Apple, Nvidia and Tesla and 50 others... I believe they have a lot to work out as Binance tried this a few years ago in the EU and had that business unit shutdown. Time will tell for both of these new endeavors.
