Crypto ATM installs rise in 2024
I knew it had been awhile since I had written about Crypto ATM's and after digging and digging, I finally found my article from way back in 2021. Where I wrote about Crypto ATM Growth. I thought now a good time to revisit this market as it has not been top of mind for me.
A recent News article published states that 2,564 Crypto ATM's have been deployed already this year (not bad since we are just not entering July). So, that breaks down to 427ish Crypto ATM's being deployed per month or about 106 per week. Keep in mind these are Global values with the US showing 82.7% of that install base! Throw in Canada's install base and you have 91.4% of the entire install base!
- Current Crypto ATM install base is just over 38K and show that 5,808 machines have been installed in past 11 months.
- Crypto ATM's were deinstalled in 2022 & 2023 to the tune of 5,700 in the later
- As Law enforcement agencies in the U.S. actively pursue and shut down Bitcoin ATMs frequently used for extortion and scams!

Summary
I was surprised to see the Crypto ATM install base shrink in '22 and '23 for various reasons. Initially I assumed it was related to the business ebb and flow cycle hitting the Crypto ATM's market too. Are you encouraged by this years Crypto ATM growth?
