Chainlink underwent a quarterly token unlock
Quarterly Chainlink Token Unlocking
The Blockchain oracle service known as LINK unlocked of 19 million or new tokens which at the time were worth $262 million. This is part of standard three month release process by Chainlink.
The release sent tokens to a few known and a few new wallets:
- For example, $205 million worth of LINK was sent directly to Binance and
- additional $57 million worth of LINK was transferred to a separate multi-signature address
- and non-circulating supply address will unlock about 10 to 20 million LINK.
Why is it important to point out where the LINK were sent?
Since 2022, nearly 163.65 million LINK ($1.81 billion) have been unlocked and flowed into Binance through the above release method. Binance offers EARN yield of roughly 0.12% for LINK and it the number one place to purchase LINK tokens.
