Beautiful are the days of the winter season, without a doubt, especially for weather lovers and lovers of weather fluctuations. Perhaps the most beautiful thing in it is the moments of family gathering, to take refuge from the hours of bitter cold that creeps into the bones of the body.

Not far from us, there are those who do not find the simplest necessities of life among the poor in the winter who live in dilapidated houses, struggling with their empty intestines with bodies exhausted by the cold, a bitter cold that infiltrates from everywhere into the dilapidated house, so the head of the family does not have anything to light a fire to warm his children. There is no provision to feed them, nor heavy clothing to protect them from the bitter cold.

Is it possible that we live in safety from cold and hunger without thinking about those who do not have the slightest human rights, food and warm shelter?!!.

When I see pictures of children struck by the cold of winter, hungry and half-naked, my heart hurts and my eyes tear, because we forget to care for the other, we forget to give to the needy, we overlook the tragedy of others, so we become selfish without knowing that we are. Sometimes we don't concern the blessings we have in our hands and do not thank God for it, as if it is something that we easily possess.

What is the meaning of humanity if we do not care about the tragedy of the other?!!, What does it mean to have a conscience if we are not affected by what is happening around us and across the world in terms of famine, need, disease and suffering of all kinds?!!
To be human means to care for the other humans as you are one , to extend a helping hand, to give even if it is a little, to love seeing the other in the best condition.

If we are not able to visit these needy people ourselves, we have to contact the charities approved in our countries and ask about their needs and present to them what our souls offer.  We can also communicate with international institutions to take care of refugees and transfer cash to them for delivery. There are many ways to provide help and assistance to everyone in need, even if it is a little bit, even with the simplest things, even if it is a kind word, a smile that expresses friendliness, or a touch that makes the needy feel that there are good hearts that share their sufferings with them.

The poor have a permanent right over us, and this right is confirmed in crisis  calamities,  and difficulties, accordingly, we have to show mercy on them and sympathize with them in this freezing weather of winter.

Be aware,  in this cold, of the conditions of the poor and destitute among your brothers in humanity ; For they do not find clothing that protects their bodies, nor a bed that protects them from the frost of the ground, nor food that strengthens their return to the cold, and they do not have means of heating, and among them are those in their homes who have entrances and exits for the cold air due to lack of hand, and among them are those who live in a tin that freezes them, their families and their children, moreover, there are the homeless who sleep in the open without shelter, their bodies shiver, as they beg people for a warm morsel to warm their empty stomachs, or for blankets to protect them from the cold of long, harsh nights. They eat from garbage, begging, kidnapping, and sometimes from the benefits of good people. At night, their suffering multiplies due to the low temperature, so they take different places to take refuge from the harsh climate, cushioning their shoes, and spreading a piece of cardboard, and the more severe the cold, the worse their pain.

Remember that God, the Merciful have mercy on  merciful people. So try to be Merciful even with those needy around you and make a humanitarian action within your possibilities and capacities. Remember when you are at your table eating different kind of dishes, that there are some people in need just for a bite of bread to survive. Please, be a volunteer to do a good action or a donation to save even one life.
