The blue tick or the checkmark on Twitter has an important role in limiting impersonation of public figures, artists, athletes and businessmen on Twitter. It also helps to authenticate the identity of its bearers and distinguishes them from fraudsters and scammers.

Through his account on  Twitter , Elon Musk launched a tweet that On April 20, he will remove the blue check marks  for those who do not pay the subscription.

He has fulfilled his previous promise to remove the authentication mark and make it available only after a certain fee.

Twitter has made the blue verification mark a key feature of its Twitter Blue subscription offer, which Musk started pricing at $8 per month and is now promoting as the best way to enjoy and improve the service.

However, on Thursday 20 April , information has been circulating about removing the blue Twitter verification mark from the accounts of some celebrities, but it quickly returned to some accounts after more than 48 hours of being deleted  .  Elon Musk, owner of the company, removed the blue checkmark of the star account's Liverpool Mohamed Salah, the Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as  Shah Rukh Khan, Bill Gates, and others. The sweep of the Twitter blue tick has caused widespread controversy among celebrities, artists and sportspeople after the account holder and many celebrities were surprised by the removal. They are also surprised by the return of the blue stamp without paying fees or subscribing to the Twitter Blue service announced by Elon Musk.

An increasing number of personalities have found the blue tick attached to their accounts, seemingly without any action on their part, such as writer Stephen King, NBA champion LeBron James, or former President Donald Trump.

On the other hand, the American Billionaire Elon Musk revealed that he personally pays for "Twitter Blue” subscriptions to a few celebrities who refused to pay to verify their accounts themselves like William Shatner, Stephen King and LeBron James to get verified badges, knowing that the three famous characters are also the major critics of the Blue Label fees.

Moreover, Accounts of deceased people, such as the famous American chef Anthony Bourdain, also got the new blue badge, and the mark appeared on several official accounts affiliated with media outlets, including even the New York Times, which lost the authentication mark in early April. Real mystery and ambiguity surrounded Mr. Elon Musk's whims and his impulsiveness in making decisions that could destroy the future of  Twitter platform.

Consequently , wonders and questions arise about the secret behind paying the blue tick fees for those three personalities, whether Elon Musk would pay for others or it's just because those famous three were the most critics of Elon Musk's Twitter measures.

Besides, the blue check mark created a large outcome of polemic and reactions among which I mention the author Rick Wilson who said, "Please note that I did not subscribe to Twitter Blue, although the blue tick appeared again on my account for some mysterious reason."
And the progressive Nobel laureate economist Paul Krugman, who described Elon Musk's "out of control impulse," wrote on Saturday: "I have nothing to do with it and I'm certainly not paying."

It's worth noting that the removal of blue authentication mark has led to a surge in identity theft,  false and fabricated information, causing a widespread chaos on Twitter. It sounds that Elon Musk is trying to force users to pay for verification services that were previously free. According to some statistics , there are around 400,000 verified accounts including celebrities, public figures, journalists and athletes.

Since Saturday 22 April , the famous blue sign has returned to some accounts after it was triggered among users around the world when the new authentication system of the "Twitter" platform was implemented a few days ago , the situation has become more complicated blue marks on media and persons without the owner's consent, users have subscribed to Twitter Blue for $8 per month, previously free phone numbers have been verified by the platform It represents a guarantee of account credibility and bad reputation for the owner.

Is this a ploy from the part of Elon Musk's tricks to force tweeters on Twitter to pay the blue badge fees, or did he retract a decision taken without considering its consequences in the future?!!!  could it be the start of something new for the controversial billionaire or the retraction has to do with the decrease of the Twitter revenues. I have an impression that Elon Musk  has fallen between the hammer and the anvil, especially when he claimed to be a defender of equality against any  of feudalism.

The endless stories of the billionaire turn into funny tales over time, maybe the upcoming days would reveal more than we expect from the famous Rowdy-dowdy Elon Musk. Whether he retracts on his decision concerning blue tick fees or putting more pressure on the Twitter users, or making a beneficial compromise for all sides, because money remains the bad master.
